I agree. The set wasn't that good, but I think there was a lot of potential. She has that way of spotting some absurdities in daily life, joking about the relatable, pushing buttons, being a character, and structuring her set so things tie together somewhat.
The jokes were alright, a few might even be good, but I think the timing was bad, and I think some well-placed digressions could break up the monotony I felt at times.
Every comedian who made it big had to work hard at it, and when you see early tapes of the ones I like now, they were similarly struggling to find their stride.
I definitely think she can become a big name if she sticks with it, and keeps polishing her approach.

Most trains have massive heaters to dissipate energy when using the motors to slow down when on a slope, the tires on most train wheels need to be heated in order to install or remove them, many trains dispense sand in front of the wheels to improve traction, most railroad spikes have an unusually high copper content to reduce corrosion, most rail clips are made from a Chinese alloy that is simmilar to 1060. That's about as much as I can think of at the moment but I probably know more.

Yeah, relatable stuff is usually pretty funny, I can totally see that most guys hesitates whether to laugh at a joke about vaginal discharge or not (tip: do it).
Because we go through most of the sexual harassment so we now find the relatability to be hilarious
Men start hearing sex jokes at birth and it never stops so we are just used to it. Stand-up comedy hasn't been as accessible and relatable to all women, the greatest female comedians have almost exclusively been lesbians until recently. Lesbian sex jokes target a much smaller crowd. For as much hate as Amy Schumer gets, she did open a lot of doors for female comics.
Because a lot of female comics do the same cliche "gross out" sex jokes. Idk how man times I've heard a female comics talk about female bodily fluids and say "I bet men think this is gross" or a weird incest joke about their dad.

"Crowds" don't really suck when you think about it... The likelihood of 200 strangers being of the same mindset is just not there. The best material in the world won't help people like you or me if we aren't talented enough to rope in a group of people as an actual "trained" comedian does. Guys like Ron White amaze me when they literally bust up an audience with a silent moment... NO funny face... No joke... just a professionally placed pause with real comedic delivery.
Her material WAS decent... but she wasn't able to relate to the audience or pull them in. That's what separates the greats from people like us telling a really good joke or two.

Deadpan is when you say something that's obviously untrue and ridiculous but you say it with the regular tone of voice, like your normal speaking voice. No sarcastic tone or "bu dum tss" kind of delivery. That being said, I din't think she used a lot of deadpan but I can see how someone would mistake it for deadpan

Saw her at a comedy club not too long ago. She was hilarious! The law and order part and the pillow joke killed me! 😂🤣😂 Also talked to her a bit afterward and she was really nice and funny even in conversation. :)
