They actually both have this "all I did was for you" point, but ppl often seem ro neglect one of the sides of this, unfortunately
Stefan hated Damon and he wrote that in his diaries none stop, he only did two things for Damon as far as i know, went away with klaus to get the cure and he took the sword mark from Rayna.
@@gee7846 Stefan didn't hate Damon. Their relationship was never of the easy-going type, but they did in fact love each other. There's even a quote about them, something like "they can fight like dogs, but at the end they'd die for each other" (which Stefan really did, and Damon was ready to do)

He ALWAYS put himself in the way just so he could save damon from his impulsive actions, and thats clear on the earlier seasons. When he goes with Klaus i think its the breaking point, because things turn around and then Damon starts doing the same for Stefan

Stefan felt guilty the entire time about convincing Damon to complete his transition to become a vampire; he felt like he owed it to him. So what he did in the last episode was not surprising to me, but it was painful to watch him die like that. :/
The ending was heart-breakingly and beautifully made and I still haven’t recovered from the entire show yet regardless of how many times I’ve watched it and how many years have gone by. This show is a masterpiece ❤

This was such a sad finale.. I cried so hard! It was his guilt, his feeling like he didn't deserve happiness or Caroline..after he turned his brother, being the ripper and the things he's done. I wished he didn't have to die, I wanted him to live as a human with Caroline for some years first.

Damon was pure vengeance, spite. When KP says that Damon is enjoying this, it's because he was, Katherine was the first woman to ever break Damon's heart and it destroyed him, so it's obvious he wanted to relish in the moment knowing he was KPs downfall.

I cried because Stefan died but also: Because Damon was willing to sacrifice himself for those he loved, because of the interaction between the brothers that really showed how much they loved each other, because Caroline lost the love of her life, and because it showed how devastating it was to Damon that he couldn't protect his little brother.

Nah, Stefan died for redemption especially after killing his brother's bestfriend/bestfriend's partner and Elena's bestie's partner aka Enzo. He could've lived but for what?? Elena would've hated him for hurting Bonnie and Damon by killing Enzo then letting his brother die.
