PAINTED CHURCH and END OF THE ROAD in KAIMU, HAWAII

My 16 year-old chihuahua girl Frida and I visited an old painted church with ties to the Vatican and stories of live and Sainthood.
Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Kaimu, Hawaii is both beautiful and of great historical significance. One of a few painted churches on Hawaii Island, it is beloved and cared for privately. It is no longer within the scope of the Catholic Church, relying on donations.
St. Damien of Molokai’i spent his first eight years as a priest in this church before volunteering to join two other priests were sent to the Leprosy/Hansens Disease Colony on the Kalaupapa peninsula.
