    I am interested in this lens, the photos are very nice you captured. I would have liked to seen more photos you took that were not stacked.
    Not everyone can stack photos.

      Hello Rodney! Thank you for the compliment. I see that you are interested in this lens. And yeah, it is natural that you need to consider how is the sharpness of a single-shot photo. I prefer to stack my photos but I know not everyone can do the same.
      So, if you would like to see some single-shot photos taken with this lens. Maybe, you can visit my Instagram, @rico_reas. Because when I uploaded a new photo, usually my macro fellows are interacting through the comment section. There you can check their galleries and see what you’re looking for.

      @@rico_reas1147 Thanks for replying. I am now following you on Instagram. You have some amazing photos. I am just learning more about stacking. Now I just need to find cool bugs. That’s the hard part. Also bug that sit still long enough for a photos. I love macro and getting better at it. Trying new lenses out to get better photos. Thanks for sharing your photos.

    Hi Rico, great work, love your pictures but i have some questions. First, it is too hard manual focusing hand held on this lens?, is the focus ring precise?? And second, can i adapt this lens to the RF mount without any issue?? I have an R5 and i found a very good offer for this lens used. Thanks!!

    Hello Rico I did buy this lens after watching your video, however as it not auto focus I was not able to take same subject with different focus points, which ultimately not possible for photo stacking. How did you do the spider pic with stacking? Please!

    • @rico_reas1147
      @rico_reas1147  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Suresh, In order to do photo stacking, I move my camera back and forth while shooting continuously. The key is to stay stable while you take the photos. If it is still not possible for you, I recommend you to purchase macro rail to help with your photo-stacking. 😄

  • @BeetjeVreemd
    @BeetjeVreemd Před 2 lety +1

    What software do you use for stacking? And with that jumping spider photo, did you take those photo's handheld or did you use a tripod?
    I got into macrophotography last year, and used the Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 macro 1x lens, but i'm thinking about replacing it with the Laowa 100mm 2x.
    I already noticed that there are quite a lot of situations where i want a larger Depth Of Field, which can only be accomplished with stacking, but i don't know how to do that.

    • @rico_reas1147
      @rico_reas1147  Před 2 lety +6

      I use Photoshop for stacking my photos. And for the second question, I took those photos handheld. Well the handheld focus stacking technique is quite hard. You need to be stable while you taking photos for a few seconds. I usually start from the front legs and then getting closer to the spider until I satisfied with the Depth of Field. Should I make a video on how I do handheld focus stacking?

    Automatic aperture is not advantage, but really huge disadcantage, while you can't adopt it in that case to simple non-electronic adapter to other camera's brand

  • @BeetjeVreemd
    @BeetjeVreemd Před 3 lety

    Which Canon EF version to get? Manual, or auto aperture?
    I don't understand.
    I read different things about it.
    Some say auto aperture is an advantage, others say it's a disadvantage.
    I read that with one of those version you can have a dark image when looking through the viewfinder, which makes it hard to make a good composition and difficult to get focus right.
    I need to be able to see clearly through the viewfinder (i use Canon 6D) so i can see what i'm doing, which version should i get?

    • @rico_reas1147
      @rico_reas1147  Před 2 lety +1

      In my opinion, the one with auto aperture is much better than the manual version. This is due to my experience using the laowa 60mm macro with manual aperture. When the aperture gets smaller, you almost see nothing in the viewfinder. Whereas with laowa 100mm (auto aperture), I can take all my photos via viewfinder.

    • @BeetjeVreemd
      @BeetjeVreemd Před 2 lety

      @@rico_reas1147 Thanks for your reply. With the auto aperture version. Is there still a aperture ring on the lens and do you have to change aperture like that or can you just change aperture with the buttons on your camera and is there no aperture ring on the auto aperture versions of these lenses?

      You take multiple shots and mix em together in post. It's pretty easy and can provide more contrast, sharper photos if done right. Exposure bracketing is the same concept for exposure. Most cameras can snap e.g., 3 images and mix them down to one. This way you have all the raw data of under just right and over exposed...in one pic. You can then EDIT. Most amazing photos have all kinds of post editing work done to them- nearly all. The trick is to do it tastefully otherwise they can just look wonky and fake. Software is a tool. Picasso wasn't great because he had great brushes. He knew how to use them- more importantly, how not to use them.

  • @d.k.1394
    @d.k.1394 Před 2 lety
