I can't remember who said it, but this is what I tell people when I see their description is loaded with boring facts: People buy emotion, not facts. You gotta him 'em in the feels.

@@rachelrobertson7353 Thanks, I wish I could take credit. I wish I could remember who said it, but it was a famous copywriter. "Imagine" is one of the best words to use. Listen to politicians, they use it a lot to hit the feels.

Excellent timing as always. I have been wanting to improve my book description skills. By the way, I wanted to apologize for only being able to respond with resting when you asked me a question at the reviewer party. I am so sorry, you must have thought that I did not care about the program, but that is not the case. Unfortunately before the program I ate something that I did not realize had something I was allergic to and I was doing my best to fight the allergy medicine so I could at least hear the celebration.

I was wondering if this book description is the same as what we use for Bowker's ISBN's book description and for Ingram, who also asks for a book description for distributors and retailers.

Yes! If each word doesn't make the person holding the book want to buy it, it is a waste of space. I suspect this is like writing a haiku. Every word needs to pull its weight, and engage the potential reader.
