What I love about this whole performance in general as well as the solo, is that he's really not doing too much. To someone looking for some epic, seemingly complicated, fast, and long solo where they just absolutely shred, this could come off as being nothing. But what I think makes that moment so great is his instincts. He's drawing things out, changing the rhythm, teasing the next note/chord, and so much more that is so subtle it could go unnoticed if u don't actually break it down. His choices for dynamics and small nuances to entice the listener for what's coming next is just immaculate. I mean he's at a festival full of people who are either just massive guitar music fans or are guitar players themselves (and are very knowledgable about guitar playing) and so u can't just get up there and play some distasteful, out of pocket guitar solo (especially doing a cover of such a legendary song) cuz no one in the audience would be impressed by that. He does everything so smart and tastefully, it's just genius.
well I doubt if he'll top Frank Marion and Mahogany Rush's version. Of course very few people know of Frank and his out of this world skill= when he toured with Aerosmith, Van Halen, etc no one wanted to follow him because they knew he just blew the audience's minds

Check out the Redrocks version of this as well, two of the best versions. Also my favorite version of Voodoo child there as well.
