    This guitar not only has nice, clean looks, but it sounds awesome ! The strings really rung out and it appears to play nice as well. Quality tuners, quality bridge & nut. It is a lot of great features at the price point.

  • @jefferymartin5798

    I absolutely love my Orangewood, it's a Mason Live Limited edition. I upgraded the tuners to gold grover locking ones and installed some gold power pins. The end result is the nicest acoustic I've ever owned and it literally rings like a bell. Such awesome tone projection. If your in the market for a great guitar and don't have $3,000 for that Taylor or Martin you really want I encourage you to try one of these Sage models or one from the Melrose collection like mine. If you don't love it they have a great return policy.

      I've noticed lots of promotion for Zager guitars that claim they're" easier to play" because the strings lower. What's the action like on your Orangewood Sage?

    • @KKMDStyle
      @KKMDStyle Před 3 lety +1

      @@JimLarranaga5k I find the action to be low enough to ease playing but not too low to get fret buzz. It’s really set up nicely. That’s their selling point besides the fact of using solid woods.

    I bought an Orangewood guitar 18 months ago. The company was really great to deal with. The guitar, I thought, was okay. We were off work a long time because of the Coronavirus (I'm a music therapist). My guitar was actually sitting at work. Then I go back a year later and play that Orangewood guitar. It opened up beautifully! For a $200 guitar, it has a sweet, very satisfying sound, and seems to get better every day. For a guitar with a solid top and laminated back and sides, it sounds great and is a tremendous value. I have nice (expensive) guitars now, but I could so have used a guitar like this back in my pre-college days when I couldn't afford anything but a crummy guitar made of plywood. I recommend Orangewood guitars whole-heartedly.

  • @alanpressman15
    @alanpressman15 Před 3 lety +1

    I bought a Rey Spruce from Orangewood about 2 years ago. It's a laminate but it was only a little over 100 USD. Two years later it plays better than when I bought it. Great tone for a laminate but I'm most impressed with the playability. Super nice neck and very good action. Really glad I got it. I think I first saw it on a Darrel video.

  • @michaelreese9763
    @michaelreese9763 Před 3 lety

    After viewing the several videos that Darrell has out on Orangewood Guitars I decided to buy one. I chose the Morgan Live for it's price and because I decided laminated mahogany sides might be a bit more stable than the real mahogany that the Sage has.
    I had read that people love their Orangewoods and I can see why. They are very well made - set up was perfect out of the box, no sharp frets, etc. I had read that people did not care for the Ernie Ball strings they come with, however, and I totally agree. The biggest issue for me was how scratchy sounding the G string was. I replaced the strings with Elixir .12s and now it sounds even better!
    I'm going to get a pick guard for it but I don't like the appearance of the tortoise shell guard they send with it so I am ordering a black pick guard from a third party. A great value!! Thank you Darrell.

    @DarrelBraunGuitar I've really enjoyed your channel, lots of great content. Ive learned as a bit of a beginner that when it's time to upgrade the smart move is to get a better amp before upgrading the guitar or pickups. So it would be great to see more content reviewing amplifiers and speakers. Because I want to upgrade my amp but looking into it is a little bit daunting, so it might be nice to see some low end, mid range and high end options looked into as well as realistic or smart upgrades that might be more cost effective to improve existing amps. Also looking into the differences between tubes and solid states and what the pros and cons are of both. I guess just your take on a more comprehensive look into the whole other end of the tone. Thanks for your great work and keep up the awesome channel.

    I own a Brooklyn Live and had no issues , I also own a Taylor 314 , I just ordered a Sage Mahogany… I’ve been playing for 4 years, I learned on OrangeWood guitar, when I purchased my Taylor i was excited, great playable guitar but 4x the price of an OrangeWood.. I truly believe they are underrated, OrangeWood makes great guitars and affordable, I was aiming for a Martin but it wasn’t my taste after I played one, don’t believe they are worth the money, they feel and look cheap, that’s why I went for another OrangeWood , this time a Sage… My Taylor will be taking a rest , just scared to bang it up

    And maybe a 2 seconds intro that wont hurt, my dude you should do a poll for those kind of things ask people, and with that you’ll surpass Davie504, your vids, ive watched guitarists on youtube from Rob Chapman n the other one to Davie, n when i say you got what it takes to surpass him, i mean it, its not a compliment or something its just how it is !! Sage Mahogany VS Ava Mahogany - I see the physical differences. Any inputs of sound characteristics or preferences?

    Day 6 of asking for a review of the VHT D50-h. It's a hand wired "D" style amp for $850 USD. It'd be awesome to get a review from someone who won't pull any punches on the amp! Thanks Darrell!
