I would just like to point out that Athletic Training is a Master’s Program now. So when you were talking about undergrad you can’t really use Athletic Training as a gateway to PT school. Personally, our schools added an Exercise Science & Rehab major in replacement of Athletic Training.

Mike, great video & huge fan.
What's your opinion on going through a sports residency via your employer where you'd have to accumulate a certain amount of hours (200 I believe) over a year span within the community? So practicing as a PT full-time however being available for Friday night football games, baseball games, crossfit meets, etc to reach those hours instead of being at a fixed location seeing one or two different teams. I'm currently a 3rd year DPT student interested in gaining my SCS & will be completing my final rotation in Hoover, AL at a sports facility in which the company offers a sports residency. Thanks!

I think it would be very similar path, especially for an outpatient sports PT job. For pro sports, may be harder. May want to consider PT or ATC school to make your chances higher

So if I am going to a school that does not offer any type of exercise programs, should I stick to biology, or maybe get my core classes done and then transfer to a school that does have what I need? Help from anyone is appreciated!

Half a regular salary. Or you could use that money toward CEUs.
