I admire you for working in the rain. I admire you even more for being knowledgable about the code.

You're a trooper! I live in Centralia, Washington and am intimately familiar with the rain. I really like that you are local to me and use the same materials available to me. I've learned a lot from you and enjoy watching.

Great videos, I've learned a lot.
Here's one for you, I've got a cantilever deck which I'm enlarging. Codes require me to remove this deck and start fresh, this means I have to cut the existing cantilever deck and interior joist back to install a rim joist then a ledger board. Have you done this before, how would you recommend cutting back the joists to install the rim joist?

When attaching the ledger board to solid concrete wall with spacers would you recommend anchors or bolts with Epoxy?

How about putting a air gap barrier between ledger board and house such as Hydro Gap?

Why did you install the ledger 1-1/2" below t-111? Is that just a random spacing?

To leave room for the decking material to tuck under the siding........

I quit attaching decks to the house over 30 years ago! Just put in posts and beams instead of! I have rebuilt others “builders” deck far too many times to repeat their mistakes!!

Dude! Don’t you think it’d be easier to slide your L flashing up behind the building paper behind the T1-11 before you install your ledger board?

Seeing your update video, I guess you did manage to get some flashing in there….i guess if your flashing upper leg is short enough you can manage it
