      Only correction would be THEY had (and have) thousands attend concerts. I've seen Queen with Freddie, Paul Rogers, and Adam Lambert. Queen is more than one member, though the absence of John and Freddie does reduce them to demi gods, rather than Gods.

      Queen was the very first concert I went to, back in the late 70's. I didn't just go to see Freddie. I also loved Roger Taylor, Brian May & John Deacon. Freddie is a great entertainer but the 4 members of the group made Queen, not just Freddie.

    Queen was one of the all-time great live bands. Their shows were pure spectacle. The size of the crowd depended on the size of the venue, because they basically sold out every show. I saw them live at the Astrodome in Houston and there were 65,000 people there. For live Queen, you can't beat their performance at Live Aid in 1985. They did a 20 minute set (the whole thing is available on CZcams) that is now considered by MANY people to be the best live show ever done by ANYONE!

  • @nyima04011
    @nyima04011 Před 3 lety +18

    I don't know too many numbers, but after Bohemian Rhapsody it's a safe bet to say they played to full capacity crowds everywhere they went. Their last tour in '86 (The Magic Tour) was ALL stadium venues, except the late addition of a final concert at Knebworth Park with 120,000 in attendance. Thanks! Love your reactions and glad you've discovered Queen!!!

    This song was written by Brian for Freddie who had an appreciation for the ladies (& men) with “junk in the trunk” 🍑🍑 But you ain’t see nothing yet! Gotta do the live version at Milton Keynes 1982!! Freddie is on Fire 🔥🔥🔥 Or lit as you would say! Our Freddie does pole dancing Ummmm actually the bannisters and scaffolding are at the mercy of Mr. Mercury!! Its a beauty to behold. And there’s a companion song called BICYCLE RACE written by Freddie. Do the official music video & try not to blush! Are you intrigued yet? As for stadium & arena concerts … Queen averaged 100K - 300K with crowd numbers. Rock n Rio 1985 LOVE OF MY LIFE over 300K sing to Freddie! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Great reaction!!

    Excellent song, I love this one. That big grin on your face from the start just said it all. Their Hyde Park concert had about 200,000 people and Japan concerts had huge crowds as well. Rock n Rio had about 300,000 people each night. Wembley held between 72-80,000 depending whether it was seated or standing on the field. Queen pulled huge arena's of people for every show and still does. My favorite live performance (if it was even possible to pick a favorite) is White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith. FANTASTIC performance!

  • @ritathomas5167

    Couple of things: In the lyrics, Freddie sings "Get on your bikes and ride". That's a reference to another Queen song called "Bicycle Race". These two songs go together. Would love to see you react to Bicycle Race, but the video for it is a little "racy" (pun intended). Also, I am a "fat-bottomed girl" - always have been and always will be. Today is my 36th wedding anniversary. Back when we got married, very thin girls were popular - not the girls who had a more "womanly" figure - ie. the "hour-glass" figure. Thank God for men like my husband who appreciated women who were a little more "substantial"! This song has always been my anthem song, since I heard it for the very first time many years ago!! Power to us fat-bottomed girls!!!

That's just as Freddie would like it...he once said he felt his music would be successful if it gave someone" a half hour of joy". It has given us a lifetime! I'd love to see you react to Ogre Battle live either at the Rainbow or at Hyde Park. Brian is fabulous on the guitar!

    I wish that you could have gone to a 70's rock concert Adogg. Thousands of excited people gathered peacefully to watch and listen to the groups that we loved. I went to dozens concerts both indoor and outdoor starting in 1975 and they were a blast. Never had a bad experience with the crowds even though many people were stoned. Most performers back then were actually musicians and their live shows were even better than studio recordings. The energy of the crowds would energize the bands.
    Cleveland had what they called the World Series of Rock where you could see 4 or 5 headline bands in one long summer afternoon. It was a good time to be young.

    They started in smaller venues...clubs, then theatres, then arenas. They did a free concert in Hyde Park in London in 1976 and thousands of fans showed up. First time they felt successful in their home country. Once they got huge crowds they never looked back. They were all excellent musicians but Freddie had something truly extra special. React to You Take My Breath Away, Live from Hyde Park. An outstanding Freddie vocal. Studio version also outstanding with Freddie layering his own voice only...it's lovely.

    Queen played to some of the largest crowds ever. Ever. They basically made stadium concerts a norm. Thing is, and I know this from experience, tickets back then did not cost what they do now, even accounting for inflation. You could get into a Queen concert (and other rock concerts) for $10 or less depending on the venue. In today’s money, that’s about $60, which in the today’s concert world is nothing. You’ll spend that much if you buy a t-shirt and a soda nowadays. Anyway, I am sure that Freddie’s Queen would sell out stadiums today even if the tickets cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars each. I know I would pay a king’s ransom (haha) to see Freddie and Queen today….if only…..

    Ask yourself... Can you name 1 Hip-Hop or Rap group that can/could sellout a 50k or 60k seat Stadium on a continual basis? Didn't think so.

    after they got famous every (!) concert was sold out and so they went from the clubs, halls, parks to the stadiums and thats how queen invented "stadium rock" ^^+gg and yes! at the peak of their career the stadiums were sold out as well! pretty sure you heard about the Wembley-concert and saw footage!? o_O They played at Wembley (72,000 crowd) on friday, saturday and sunday on a sold-out show! Because of that ticket request they gave an addititonal concert at Hyde Park some days later in front of more than 150,000 people ...! And if you think 150,000 is a lot ... well, not for Queen! In Argentina and Brazil there were even larger crowds with up to more than 450,000 ticket sales for 2 days! Queen was at the peak and the King of music! ^^+gg
