On one hand, children's books can be an excellent way to get comprehensible input in a foreign language. On the other hand, they all suck!

I am learning german at the moment. I have just gotten back from a trip to Hamburg where I saw Wicked after following a course in german for 6 months and watching a lot of TV.
When I went there I bought some children books and manga’s in German. I have to say it really helps me with the grammer and it learns me new words.
I think it is indeed effective.
