We broke down in my twin turbo Lamborghini as soon as we got off the ferry in spain. We tried to diagnose the issue, but had no luck and had to leave it at a random garage in spain. Now we had to head back to the Lamborghini and try to fix it before trying to get back onto the ferry to the UK. Then we had an issue with the Spanish police on the way that wanted to tow the car away!

It's crazy how out of all the crash damaged cars you've bought (including a Maserati), the car you've had the most reliability issues with is a Lamborghini you bought from a dealership...
Glad you've got it back to the UK, must've been stressful having car issues abroad
😂😂😂 who would of thought it 😅🤷♀️
haha such is life.No guarantees
That’s what happens when you upgrade it to produce so much power though
@@jimjamthebananaman1 thing is the crank sensor has nothing to do with the upgrades 😅🤷♀️
@@jimjamthebananaman1 that’s what you get with buying any car 🤷♂️😂
Hanna needs a medal after this trip.. my wife would of killed me and re-married by now🤣
Take your laptop and cable with you wherever you go now, that's a valuable lesson learnt. Good content though
I would imagine it requires expensive software as well to talk to the ECU.
@@DurkoppFordertechnic I'd assume the company who installed it can log into the laptop remotely and scan the ecu.
Yes, I always take my OBD scanner on my road trips just in case I get the check engine light when you least expect it. Glad Matt was able to get back to the UK albeit stressed out to say the least. I have a 2012 Audi S5 and so far it's running well with over 120,000 miles on the clock. All the best.
@@SaturnV69 247! my obd is a small cheap box, and it connects to the phone... best 20 quid spent!
That's exactly what I was going to say. And a light weight lipo jumper pack never hurts especially when they have usb charging and a torch too. 💪🏼
Such a shame it caused such a stress to the holiday. However, it’s a great lesson and will make the next trip that bit better! Glad it’s fixed now mate! 🙌🏼
Waited for this for a while! Glad its out now
Mat and Hannah! How wonderful that you both had the moral fibre to film the whole gut wrenching adventure. My girlfriend and I had a similar experience driving to the south of France in an Escort Mexico back in the 1970s. We learnt a lot of french words for car parts and eventually got it repaired without cutting short the holiday. We married soon after that and are still together almost 50 years later! (Just saying…) 💪😊😎🥰
you and the mexico are still together? that's wonderful - how's the old girl doing?
matt is is the most genuine kind hearted person on youtube! i’m so glad that you fixed it :)
This is my number 1 fear on going on road trips with my own car. Stranded in the middle of nowhere and having to tow my car, from one place to the next. Glad you guys got back home safe and the issue was fixed quickly with out causing any harm to the car.
Glad it’s sorted - turned the trip into an adventure at least!! Hope you had a good holiday despite the car headaches 👍🏼
Note to self keep cable and laptop in the car from now on, nightmare feel for you man, been there know what it’s like
Probably wouldn't have helped. Needs some expensive software as well to talk to the ECU.
It might have been over 2 years ago but watching now still brought tears to my eyes. Partly thinking of my wife's face and what she might say if I told her we were going to have sleep the night in a Fiat Panda! 🤣 Well done for perservering and glad you got home OK in the end - the most expensive crank sensor ever bought! 🙈🤭
Glad it's sorted Mat, your outlook is legendary, kudos for being so jovial about the whole thing, top man
Matt, it's great how transparent you are, just goes to show that CZcamsrs aren't all glam and glitter, it's mostly dealing with crap after crap! Glad it's sorted!
*Mat*
Stress levels must have been at the max!!! Glad it’s all sorted and you both got back safe and sound👌🏻
Now that's stressful. Great how you never stopped smiling and a positive attitude throughout. Glad its sorted mate, and a cheap fix. Looking forward to the next video.
Mat - I appreciate so much your videos. I know how frustrating this work must be, but you carry on every time with joy and a smile. Keep living your best life!
Absolutely big up both of you keeping it together during that horror. Well done 💪
Big respect for keeping so calm, my head would be rolling. Great to see it was an easy fix 👍
The one thing I really love about your videos is your cars are RIGHT HAND DRIVE!!!!!
It makes it more personable to the rest of us who drive RHD cars.
It's great you were able to keep smiling on camera and pushing positivity because I know for sure off camera it would have been stressful!
After watching that i felt your pain all the way... Hannah did not look impressed either.
Are we going to have a part 2 road trip with the lambo, maybe just in the UK this time.
Stay cool guys 👌
Hey Mat well done for keeping your cool and continuing to solve problems. I've been in a similar situation on a number of occasions and it's a nightmare! Staying calm and focused is definitely the way forward. Fantastic video content tonight. You genuinely inspire me to keep pushing to grow my channel. Awesome! .. loved every minute of that.
Mad respect for getting the Lambo back to the UK safe. So glad you had Hannah with you for support 🙏🏻
In the future, here's a tip for any vehicle with a crank position sensor.. (almost any modern car with EFI) : When trying to start, look at the tach. If you have no tach movement whilst cranking, or it drops out whilst cranking, you've lost the CPS. 30 Year Euro car tech chiming in. And yes, they do fail randomly and are often affected by heat in their failure mode. No starts, I always watch the tach.
Wow Matt. Really do enjoy your content. Always entertained and interesting. Keep up the great work 👍🏼
Epic.... Brilliant video and editing. What a story
Mental mate! glad you both held it together, and got home safe
... keep it up
It's amazing that something so simple caused you the problem but at least you're back and a bit of drama never hurt anyone 😂
I think a lot of people would have given up and just got it transported back so well done! 💪
Your holiday horror story is better than anything shown on TV for months now. Couldn't wait to see this episode. Glad you are both home OK. This would be my absolute worst nightmare. Really impressed how you both kept your cool on video anyway. #respect
Felt so sorry for you guys 🥺
Glad it's all sorted now 👍
I grew up with little means and my mom owned a few MOPAR cloud cars (the Cirrus and Stratus specifically here in the U.S.). Two of those cars exhibited these exact same symptoms when, of course, their crank sensors failed. Your bit about no one wanting to help you resonated with me as we experienced the same thing. We would stall out at random and people would just get angry at us and never try to help. Of course we waited months to get it to a mechanic that could fix it, so it was an experience that shaped me to stop and help anyone I could as long as it were safely possible. Glad you made it back well.
Great video Bud 👍👍Glad to see you guys still smiling 😀😀
Such a shame that something so small caused so much stress. You’ve done an amazing job keeping your head up throughout the mishaps
These things come to test us, how we deal with it is the lesson learned.
Glad you're both safe.... stay positive 🙏
The drama.... I was hooked !!! i felt your pain in a similar situation
Love the fact you've put your own touches on this car & use it what it was made for... to be driven! not one of them people who stick it in a garage and don't want to put miles on it.
This was stressing me out like it's my own car 😁
Amazing content as always! That was so hard to watch, can’t imagine how awful it was to live through 🙈
Glad you guys got it sorted was waiting to see how you got on
When you get older and look back, these are the holidays and experiences you remember. Feels a major pain in the a..e at the time, of course, but as time goes by and you laugh at it. Some of my best memories through the years have been associated with, what were at the time, real big issues. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
Brilliant Vidoe - Yours Mrs has a lot of patience on this trip!
We’ve been waiting for this haha
Really like your honesty
How you both kept it together during all of that … hats off 👍
Makes you realise how well the £10k Bentley did going to Monaco.
Wow Mats reaction to getting no help from a passer by is to resolve to help someone out himself, what a guy ❤️ you’re a better man than me 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your excelent vibes in front the difficults... I learn to much with you. Your Attitude so far the Supercars. From México
I was living your journey home and the experiencing the stress of it all! Well done for keeping it all together. The irony is the "crankcase sensor" is most likely just a simple magnet. There's no moving parts (as I'm sure you know) but somehow they fail. What a bummer but glad you're now home.
Hats off to you Mat for remaining so calm throughout I'd have been losing the plot big time!! 🤣
damn, you two deffs wont forget that trip haha at least its good content :D
Great news it’s sorted and despite all the stress it’s not an expensive fix. Hope you were both still able to enjoy your holiday.
You are both back safe and sound so it was a good trip and a great video
Shout out to the 🐼 for not missing a beat and giving you some holiday even if it wasn't the most relaxing.
What??? It’s was the flux capacitor?!?!? Would have never expected that!
I had the exact same issue with my ST with the crank shaft sensor. Glad you got it sorted!
Oh god, I used to have an old rover cut out randomly and not start like this and it was a crank sensor. What a bloody nightmare! Can't imagine the stress... bad enough in any car nevermind the lambo. Love the vids, glad you got it back and got it sorted. Keep up the good work 👍
What an amazing ( and gut wrenching ) adventure!
Thanks for sharing !
Good job getting it back to the uk Mat, it was stressful just watching…. Need to do a re visit next year, though maybe take a laptop and cable haha. Great content as usual 👍👍
Saw your car down at RE today just before this video came out, had a good chat with the guys about it! looks pretty epic in the flesh!
Glad you got home ok and got it sorted. 👌👍
Mate I was feeling anxiety watching this! Even the last vid, for someone like me that travels from London to Lisbon once a year by car, that’s like the worse nightmare…a car breakdown without having the clue on what’s going on! Glad u and ur missus made it back and sort this out!
Honestly, respect for not actually losing it! I blocked an entrance with my vehicle when the engine blew up and couldn't get the car to move because it was a hill. A person had the audacity to say 'you can't park there, you're blocking the entrance' and I was so dehydrated (very hot day) and upset that I just flipped at them whilst still on the phone to the breakdown. So easy to lose your cool in moments like those!
Well I'd think being on a hill you should have been able to move it in one direction.
All the bad things that happened on your trip makes for pretty good fodder for your channel. I liked it. Sorry you went through it for a good cause.
You are always smiling, love it
I love that you always kept a smile despite all the bad that had happened
Amazing all right, reminds me of the early Honda cars when the igniton module inside the distributor would crap out after it got hot, cool it down and away you go until it heated up again.
That’s crazy mate what a palaver! Glad you both made it back to the UK and the beloved Leicester 👍
Glad you got back man
Mat you have so much patience. I feel for you . Can't the trouble you have had . Avid new subscriber in Sunny Western Australia.
Good to see you got home 🏡
Love your contents Mate, respect
I was waiting for your squarespace segway and you didn't disappoint. I feel for you mate. We've all been there...I know I have. Just think of all the learning from this experience.
You have now learnd to troubleshoot under pressure.
You kept it together mate.
Good on ya.
Mr Armstrong passing through my city Portsmouth thanks for passing by 🥳
Mat your videos are awesome I love your interactive personality.
Well done you both for being so clam with your situation, can't believe that no one would helped you but
That's what most people do unfortunately.
Nice camera work.
Especially the sky stuff.
The harbour, garage etc
Hi Matt! I'm from Malaysia. What a journey you had. Tough luck mate.
Despite the stress, yet another great watch. Was sitting here willing the car to make it to the ferry…..
Keep doing what you do bud - more power to you ! 👍
Hi Mat. I only recently discovered your channel but am now addicted. I very much admire your skills, enthusiasm and character. I started watching your Lamborghini trials in Spain when it was unclear what the problem was. It made me think back to a Citroen CX I owned back in the 1980`s. I would go out in it never knowing if I would be getting back home. It would just cut out at random. My local garage spent hours trying to identify the problem - no computer boxes back then.. Funnily enough they also changed a fuel solenoid active when.starting and it iseemed to work. 2 days later it conked out again. It was eventually solved - a faulty crankshaft sensor! I was amazed when it turned out that your problem was the same. My very best wishes, Roger.
Wow! 🙈 that is sheer bad luck. But least you managed to get home safe and had a journey you will never forget. Great content as always
Glad you've got back safe and well dudes! What a journey!!! From the off I said Crank or Cam sensor and as you say, its not expensive to sort but I bet you are still kicking yourself for not taking the laptop and cable with you.. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Mate you come across as one of the most genuinely nice blokes I’ve seen, all best for the future👍🏻
Loving the content. This car is worth it :) You did such a great job with the mags looks mega.
Happy you got it sorted mat hope you had a nice short time at the villa
great story, keep them coming
Always a simple fix in hindsight , especially without a plug in!!!
Better luck for the next trip 🤞
for all that stress, brilliant content to watch!
Unlucky Matt!! You did well to remain calm .. love seeing how protective you are of your car! I would be the same! Watching it on and off the ramps and sleeping with it lol
*Mat*
Wow , you were being tested to the max!!!. At least it is alrght.
so glad you managed to finally get the car sorted mat, must of been such a pain... great video as always
Well done for staying positive and hopefully you still enjoyed the holiday part of it 👍🏻
I had this same issue on my RS3! Luckily I wasnt as far away as you, but glad you got it sorted! 💪🏽
Glad it's sorted for you mate , you and hanna sleeping out in the panda brought back memories of my early dating days with the misses sleeping out in a rover coupe 😜😜I don't think my back could take it now 🤣.
If ever there was a video which really shows a nightmare car scenario....this was it. I felt your pain. Great you got back safely. CPS is more common than you think. It gets hot, dies....then cools off...and works. Had it on a CLK once. It broke down in the worst ever places. Cost 30 quid to fix when I found out what it was.
What a nightmare, but glad it was something simple in the end. Great video as always Mat. Hope you both enjoy the holiday also.
Mat i don't know how you kept your cool, unbelievable but respect to you and Hanna for handling it the way you did.....................
That was stressful! Glad it's sorted and nothing major.
Great Content as always :) Gutted about the Trip and the sensor failure :(
Bad luck Guys. Great content 😊
