Megs, you can definitely do it, trails are a ton of fun. We live in the Atlanta area but we look for trails to ride all over. There are two videos of us riding the the Gap and Allegahnay trail from Pittsburgh to DC here on the channel, those are entertaining, check them out when you get a chance.
Yes, I am. I saw your GAP ride also. I’ve done that three times and plan on doing it again. But you got me interested in Florida also. Not sure where you actually live but you might enjoy the Capital Trail also. I enjoyed your narration a lot.
@@bryanwehmeyer 3 times that's awesome, I'm trying to get as many trails ridden as possible myself. We are making plans for the Erie trial Buffalo to Albany maybe in October or Spring 2021. By far the Best video I have seen on this trail. I've been considering riding it for a while. Any chance you could get me a list of the hotels you used, or where I can find them? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your video! I hope to ride the Coast 2 Coast someday from Pinellas Trail to Titusville? Where was that undone trail with the dirt around it around 9:30 in the video? My 28 size tires would have trouble with most of that. 25:30 It was Kenny Chesney ft Uncle Kracker When the Sun Goes Down at that he was singing. Good song! Did you all camp out there? The mosquitos can be terrible out there at Dawn at Jay B Starkey Wilderness Park. I found out when I got caught riding back in the dark to my car that I parked there and when I stopped it was like I free game for all of the mosquitos there. I couldn't throw my bike in my car fast enough without some of the mosquitos getting in. It was bad. That was a controlled burning after that at Jay B Starkey Park Trail. They seem to do that a lot up there. I was riding the other way actually on the day that I mentioned the mosquitos, and I didn't know what was going on until I got to the end and saw the sign mentioning the controlled burn and not to call the fire department. I added a little drama and dram music to the video like it was sad. LOL 26:10 The Power lines on the Starkey Gap where you are hearing the buzzing I think is common in the cooler months like March. I ride the starkey Gap once a week and I get a static shock through my handle bars just before where you filmed it next to SR-54. It's in the middle between the towers where the wire hangs the lowest. We're not under the wires long enough for the frequencies to hurt us but, the reading on my EMF Reader are high: For EF: It's averages 2,300 V/m...500 is dangerous. For EMF where I get static shocks out there it can hit 109mGs...100 is dangerous. I am trying to get Pasco County to do something about making it safer for us out there but, they are ignoring me even after I did an interview on the news station about it. 28:57 On the Tarpon Springs Part of the Pinellas Trail near Mile Marker 37, I got that section of the trail smoothed out for everyone up to that next stop sign. It was a bumpy as could be. It took me 5 years to get them to fix that and they finally dug the whole thing up and repaved it. Now it's nice and smooth! :) It was bad for like 20 years from what I was told. I complained about it and made little video clips doing shaking voices going over it until they did something about it. I filled out reports and just kept mocking the County until it was taken care of. They tried different things like painting over the bumps so we could see them but, there was no way to avoid hitting them. It's smooth now and everything is great there now. 30:20 is in Palm Harbor Florida is right near where I used to live not far from the 30 Mile Marker. 30:42 is the First Overpass that was built on the Pinellas Trail near Mile Marker 29. They replaced the the steel parts of the bridge just a couple of years ago and it was shut down for a year and a half. That was awful and they didn't give us an explanation why they closed it until they finished the job. People were getting hit crossing the road while they closed the bridge down. It's very nice that they got that bridge replaced and open again! There is 10 overpasses on the Pinellas Trail now and going South is the Easier way. 31:40 You all went to Clearwater Beach. It would of looked a little more to the left near the condos where the boats were docked then you might of seen dolphins. They hang out there a lot. I am typing this as I am watching it. You did get video of the condos there and I see you all met the wind too that we some times enounter up there....haha! A lot of people fail to make it up that when the hard wind is hitting them. Technically you are Coast 2 Coast right there. It looks like you have rain down South from there. 33:00 Minutes, that bridge before the beach, I was down there one day on a very windy day. It was so windy that the metal railing sounded like a tuning fork. 33:30 It's impressive that you made it up the Clearwater Beach Bridge with one hand still filming. Wow! A lot of people get off and walk their bikes up that. I have never walked my bike up that though. 33:58 is the Druid Trail. 35:59 Thanks for the your take on the Coast 2 Coast. At least you got stuck at those traffic lights when it was cooler out. I am fine riding in 92 Degree weather but, once I stop then that's when it gets really hot. It's cool you had rides meet you at the other end and pick you guys up. I think when I ride to Titusville, I am just going to rent a vehicle for a day and drive home or ride my bike back. I am still undecided. I plan the ride the full Coast 2 Coast Trail and probably before they complete it like around next Spring when it's cooler out and I will try to catch the wind going North and East. The Good Neighbor Connector Trail that is going to go from the Suncoast Trail to the Good Neighbor trail is supposed to be done this fall. You might of seen the Construction on the left or South Side of SR-50 passed Brooksville Florida. A little critism from me though, I do think it's Great you went Coast 2 Coast but, the official Coast 2 Coast Trail was only 22 more miles South of where you stopped. It ends in St. Petersburg and the old Start of the Pinellas Trail near Al Lang Stadium. I am learning how to film better by watching people film. I like how you were flipping the camera around and filming your group. You did a good job! I think I am going to try to use a Wrist Strap so, I can do something like that. That looked kind of dangerous though with you going down the bridge near Titusville one handed. I mount my camera on the handle bars and just let people see what's in front for now. I am in touch with this Trail reporter in the link below. I let him know the progress going on the West Side of Florida. This is a link to the full Coast 2 Coast Progress of trails have been completed and what trails are still being built.
