Perler Beads Art!? | How To Use Perler Beads

- Today I'm making art with perler beads and showing you how to use perler beads. This was my first time using perler beads and I have to admit I really enjoyed it, I think using the perler beads to build up an images was incredibly satisfying albeit slightly fiddly! I'm not sure whether the art I made with perler beads was anything fantastic, however after looking on the official website for perler beads, I realised that you can actually make quite a lot of interesting things with them, including 3D sculptures. So feel free to let me know in the comments if you want me to whip out the perler beads again and try and make some slightly more ambitious stuff with them! And if you have any suggestions on any videos you'd like to see, then feel free to leave them down in the comments below!

Ant, you were so calm when you dropped those beads. If that had been me, I would have totally OBSESSED about the beads not being in there own section. I wouldn't have been able to focus until they were all back as they should be. I have OCD tendencies which are so annoying! Watching you carefully put the beads all straight again was soothing to my soul lol. You said you have books you've never read? Oh my gawd, that's sacrilege hun! Books are fantastic! I practically inhale the books I read! Watching CZcams and reading books are my two favourite hobbies after crafting of course. I had a uni teacher who would do little beads figures and hotglue a pin in the back to make pins 😂 Super cute tree, Ant, and I love your light hair, tbh, I wouldn't touch it ✨️

Yes it was on a bigger peg board and you had blue hair 💙 in the very first video I ever watched of you. When I make them I turn it over and iron the other side. I don't like the holes so I melt it longer. Wonderful video! Thank you very much for shout out. My husband said I should of needle felted for you instead. I'm a bit better with that craft.. Anyway still a big fan and hope you give that crown a go. They also make great magnets
Ah I thought so! Aww! The good old blue hair days! 😆 Ah I see! I quite liked the holes but glad you can melt it for longer too! Oh I tried needle felting one time! I wasn't the best at it 😆😆

I used to make Hama bead creations all the time as a kid!! I used to go to a youth club a few nights a week, and that was the only material available for making art 😅

I have never heard of perler beads. I do all sorts of art, but I am terrible with working with small objects like beads. Glad you tried it, so I don't have to.

As far as I know, they were made for children, as a craft, to improve fine motor skills, hand eye coordination which some children struggle with, it would help with writing etc.

Yeah my daughter which I can't keep up with, when she comes to stay here.. her hair always in a different colour (mind twice she had blue and purple) - drove me nuts that did haha🤣Back to your creation - you didnt fail!! Wooohoo, makes a change huh? 😁

Oh that's a tough one! I think perler beads are more creative/more options to do stuff with, but I prefer the process of diamond painting, I think it's really relaxing 😅

A lot of plastic can't be recycled, just look on the packet's label and it keeps saying "Cant recycle" 😮
Ooh get off you soap box lol. FYI check you council recycling rules as not all take coloured plastic.
Haha 😆😆 True! Also a lot of recycling ends up in the landfill or getting burnt anyway but we'll save that conversation for another day 😅😅
Uk power plants use coal
We do, don't think we're as reliant on it as we used to be and I don't think it makes up the majority of where our power comes from unlike Australia, think we have plans to stop all coal in a couple of years time too so that's good!
It's so funny how you use pronouns. For example you explain that it would give 'us' a scare or what would 'we' do... and I always think....who? 🤔 you and the mouse in your pocket? Lol! I believe it's a British thing because I've heard other Brit's use the same pronouns. I hope you don't think I'm demeaning you - I'm not. I really like languages and the usage of them.
Your little tree turned out very cute! Since the beads come in all those colors I wonder if you could use the beads that are somewhat translucent and create a faux stained glass design? I bet that would be pretty in the window! Maybe a stained glass Terry's Orange Chocolate ball? Do you know what I mean?
Anyway, we still use coal burning for electricity in the US, as well. Remember that with all of the plastic environmental issues and such, it all comes down to money, sadly.

Haha! Yeah it's definitely a British thing and more so a northern thing. So when I say the sound 'iz', that just means 'me', have noooooo idea why I do it but it just sounds better for me 😆😆 Oh and yeah a stained glass piece would be cool!! Ah yeah it sucks! The world and its leaders/powerful people are really gunna have to get their act together otherwise their money will be a waste of time when there's nothing left to spend it on 😞
The majority of electricity in the US is generated by coal plants, so when they charge the electric cars, it was possible because of coal 😆🤣🤣🤣

Despite being super excited for this video, i'm 5min in and angry, upset, and annoyed. Mostly because you don't seem to understand a lot of what activists do and have figured out.
The straws thing is bs, mostly bc it's an accessibility thing.
But my whole family is annoyed at this video, and we usually love it, and I was so excited for this video, but... i'm so unhappy.

I elaborate below on what eco activists are working on. The real ones, anyway. (The biggest group is XR - Extinction Rebellion)
Basically, what's going on behind the scenes is much bigger than you were talking about. Yeah, we push the personal things, but we also push, lobby (when we can), advocate, and set up protests, funds, ad campaigns, create templates for calling and writing politicians, create and spread petitions all to enact widespread regulations, laws, bills, etc. to limit or ban the worst of carbon emissions, chemicals, oils, mining, and on, we volunteer in cleanup and restoration projects, along with helping create eco-friendly areas. Plus so much more.
I know it might seem like we're only about the everyday person. But waaay more is going on. And us being all around the world makes it even more difficult to see all that we're doing.
As an aside, it's the oil, gas, coal, car, and mining companies that have pushed personal responsibility, to distract from them, the worst offenders.
