Wow, what a rare catch! I wish Ford re-made these icons and updated them a bit, that would be legendary.

I remember working construction in Hoboken, N.J. around summer of 2010 and seening a parking lot of about 130 brand new - factory fresh-no stickers yet-yellow crown vics parked in a fenced in lot on 15th st next to a Greyhound bus repair garage. Who knew then but I would have loved to snap a picture but reality in 2010, blackberry and flip phones didn't have cameras. Maybe they did and maybe the didn't point is: was a beautiful site of sea of yellow to be seen. Solid steel with each car averaged to get 400,000 miles apiece. Yep, dinosaur cell phone days plus uber/lyft wasn't even invented yet. Similar times just 12 to 14 years ago.....

2011 was the last year for the Crown Vics so that car is 12 years old at least. Factory was in Canada. Canadian cars. Very nice.

I've saw couple of these still in service here at north jersey usually Newark airport, they still have the same yellow cab color and everything, god I really miss when these were roaming around the street of Manhattan. I know someone who use to drive one of these now work for uber and drive a Toyota Sienna, he said that it was during the covid, when budget cut happened and the surge of fuel price around the taxi industry that finally kills the crown vic. What a shame, many could serve for a few more years.

I can’t believe these things are still picking up hails! I still remember being at the Wendy’s on tremont Ave as a kid seeing a truck delivering fully marked CV taxis to probably BX Ford. Brings back great memories.

Well….. before she goes……. I’m going to truly miss those pieces of transportation history forever. I don’t even see them anymore. I’ll run into a used one every6 months but that’s it…. Nothing like those superhero movies where the crown Vic’s would be trashed for amusement at the box office. They’ve had a good run… rip crown vics 1955-2023
