There's always been some otherwordly feeling to Zun's Musical Collection albums. Most notably, it differs from track to track. Sometimes it's like a weekend camping trip, other time it's a clue hunting during spiritual investigation. Some moments fill you with nostalgia, gripping you just like you hold an old photoalbum in your hands. It can be an unsettling midnight ritual or a ghost story session. And sometimes, it's like a lucid dream, straddling the border of reality and fantasy.
The fantasy that is bound to be never fulfilled.
But then again, we all know what happened in "Dolls in Pseudo Paradise". Perhaps it's better for us only to get a glimpse of what lies beyond with a help of music and not become a part of it instead.
