Thank you, Leila. I was not aware that you could sort a data set by selecting sort on a cell within an unselected data set so that your data records stay together and not sort one column in isolation of the other columns in the data set (which is a nightmare!). Thanks again. Keep up the great work.
More often than sorting by anything other than sorting by values, I sort left to right. This helps a lot when the data is retrieved in a different column order than the workbook where I am working has.
Sorting by color - this is what I need but didn't know that it exists. Thank you! I will impress my boss next week, when checking our datas (only the red once need a closer look).

All it takes is to forget that once and you'll never forget it again in the future.. haha!! I have not used Custom Sort or Custom List much.. but can see by your examples what I have been missing. Hope you’re still checking: I’ve been trying to do a custom sort on a list of 5 characters, most are numbers but some have letters. I’ll never calculate these so I could call the cells text but either way it won’t sort based on my list. Thoughts?

Very useful video. I recommend ALT+D+S key board short cut for sorting as its quick. Further excel has one more very excellent feature of sorting from left to right or right to left (horizontal sort / column sort); which I myself started using very recently due to some specific business needs. When I need to sort, excel says that you cannot do sort because of merge cells. I couldn't find but after unmerge I could sort A to Z easily. And is there anyway to freeze pane not default 1st raw but from second row to down? Thank you teacher

Liela, can you please demonstrate how to use Custom sort order using Sort or Sort by formula?
