In addition to that, no other magazine or reviewer ever gets into the tech and ergonomics of a car, which every single buyer lives with, instead every other reviewer just drives the car in a way 95% of people wont drive it.
tell that to Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Land Rover, and VW. They've been putting diesels in their cars for years in Europe and the concern of weight and noise has been addressed accordingly to the point of making them a more than reasonable alternative to gas powered cars.

Having a diesel engine in a big SUV is the only way that the average person can afford to run such a vehicle. In most of the rest of the world, where petrol is much more reasonably priced, this is not really an issue.

The fact of the matter is, there is a customer base in America who would be more inclined to purchase these behemoth of a vehicle if it came with a more efficient diesel engine.
I saw one of these up at the casino in Wht/wht. I loved the way it looked. It has more horsepower and get better fuel economy than the Lexus LX-570. The Lexus is slightly more off road capable but is $15,000 more. I'd take this over the $80,000 Escalade. Plus it will have more desirability than the Escalade after 10 years of ownership IMO.
Everything he says about the QX80 is spot on except his characterization of the ride quality as smooth and disconnected. I have a loaded 2015 with the adaptive suspension and ride quality is rough and jiggly. You feel every little bump and seam in the road. Everything else has been good, because of the bumpy ride I would never buy another one.
Kind of amazed high end cars still come with DVD players. Would think they able to play blu rays by now. I know really can't take advantage of blu ray on tiny screens but still.
I have an idea about making Top Gear US a riot. Cooley, of course, and Sarah from web2carz combo is a good start. If we have one more presenter and the trio is ready to challenge the TG UK, I promise.
I live in an area nearby a really nice community called Alamo Ranch and these things are too fucking common lol! ;) Every morning I see about 3 of them, they're even more common than Escalades. I like them though.
