Good video but I downvote all clickbait thumbnails. Its a personal policy. I watched the whole video to see what was going on in the thumbnail. You wasted my time.
None of those were hidden features of a jigsaw. They're mainly just tricks or tips someone is offering up, a few are things you learn in woodshop class.
I could use a file to smooth a few hundred square notches in the time it took to create that sanding attachment.
You were too busy trying to determine if you could, that you didn't stop to think if you should.
It's also faster to pick up a file than it is to switch out for that sanding block.
Good tips to know but there was no new features to that jigsaw
The reason the wood rips up is because of the blades teeth cutting upwards, which is why you would cut it face down. If cutting laminated wood (flooring for example) you can just buy a blade that cuts downward.
The are good tips to prevent it tho, the tape one is old but the plastic thing was good.
Any cut edge of flooring should end up hidden by trim anyway.
To stop the wood from burring, uses a downward cut blade, or cut from the other side...

Roto zip does all this better than a jigsaw.
Guess the author doesn't know that you can plunge cut with a standard jigsaw blade.

Or you could just get the right tool for the job. I would rather spend more time doing the work than creating the tools to do the work.
No need for all the adhesive for the sanding block. 3M makes a great Stick-it sticky back sand paper. Comes in rolls of various grit. STEWART Macdonald

Neat. But why don't you have a jigsaw you can rotate the blade to make the circle cuts? Don't need to do individual cuts if you have one that rotates by the handle

He used the wrong blade for that wood. Needed finer teeth and preferably straight teeth as opposed to directional.

These aren't secrets, these are things you could learn in school if you paid attention like you're supposed to, but you probably wouldn't know that because you didn't graduate middle school
i thought you people just used baking soda/graphite powder and superglue...for EVERYTHING, i mean JB Weld is soooo old timey, obsoletey, it doesnt LOOK like a retro vintage vid from bygone era of the 20teens... i better start seein more applications with that baking graphite powder... SFMF

Most of these i knew. But the one good ideal was taking an old blade, use adhesives on the wood and some sand paper to make a home made sander. Thats was pretty cool

Nothing but old established uses. Why go to all that effort to make a sander when sander blades are available. I'm disappointed. Really wanted to see that drill bit fit in the saw and fly across the room.
