I rented a 440 with x-drive years ago. 2 inches of snow on the road and the car held traction driving smartly, even unintentionally up around 90 mph it never came loose.

BMW would sell many more M8 Convertibles if the (1) sales people were more knowledgeable and (2) most importantly, treated the customer better during the sales process. I nearly brought an M8 4 years ago but the sales person was so rude and condescending I decided to buy another vehicle. They need to be more professional and return calls in a timely manner and remember to follow up with questions that they told the customer “I will find out and get back to you”.
Now I am looking at a 2025 BMW M8 convertible, and talked to 2 dealerships, each one was worse than the other. Makes me nearly buy a Mercedes again
I would recommend asking for a sales manager first. Explain what's happened to you over and over again with salesmen. You are looking at a car that's over $100,000. It is important for the dealership to build a relationship with you and earn your business. Also to be there for you on the next car and your next car, etc.
