The songs title and the line, “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind” come from ‘The Work That Has Been Done’, a speech written by the great Marcus Garvey.
“I have no education. I have inspiration. If I was educated, I would be a damn fool.” - Bob
“Money can’t buy life”- Marley
Ian 64 years old,and married for 43 years all guided by Bob's message, not just a ordinary man he was placed here by his Highness, start at the beginning of his life.
this song allways makes me cry. good choice
AHHH!! Bob Marley!! The True RASTAFARIAN!!🇯🇲🎶
I just subscribed. I am a 58 year old white woman. I love Bob Marley. You should listen to another great poet, Bob Dylan. I think you will really identify with his lyrics. He is a man with a guitar and a harmonica. Great!💕💕
Don't know what to say;just 57 yrs old and Im still blowen away
bob marley fans from Kuwait 🇰🇼 thanks for you brother
Great reaction!! "Waiting In Vain" would be a great next Bob Marley reaction
RIP Bob 😎👍🎶😇
One great concert.Garanteed
What I ❤️ about Bob best, is he wholeheartedly punctuates every word he sings🎶aweee.....I listen to him mostly by myself like a Treasure ✳️
Bob was a great man
Guess what we,ll all be Jammin
Music doesn’t have to be complex when it comes from the heart. Long live Bob Marley! ✊🏽
I'm glad you heard this one before I was going to be worried for a second there I'm just like you just never gets old you can listen to this over and over
Only as an older person have I come to appreciate his greatness and what his music has done to change the world.
I recommend Peter Tosh (one of the original Wailers) - start with Downpressor Man ...
Thank you! This song always bring a tear. I would have seen him on Tour with Stevie Wonder in 79-80 but Marley was too sick from the tumor in his head. Gil Scott Heron replaced him and Stevie & Gil got MLK day on the calendar.
This is so cliche of me BUT...jamaican in the house😁
One of the best.We be Jammin
My favourite music is classic rock and blues but love Bob Marley music I live in Peckham in London just found out in 1972 Bod Marley and Johnny Nash met a teacher few weeks after the song stir it up and wasn’t selling very well
The teacher invited them to play for some kids in Peckham manor park school couple of days later they turned up and played for them
FINALLY!!!......I been requesting this one to several channels....thanks bro!
This has always seemed to be a hymn, to me. There's as much spirit in this song as in a choral or a requiem by Mozart or Verdi
Thank you thank you for doing this one
Hey man!You are on a roll with these great bands and tunes.🎸🎼👍🏼🎧
Great track from Bob.
Luv Bob! Hopefully you do more of his songs and more reggae...Black Uhuru, Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse. I also luv acoustic music and great words of advice.
You should do a reaction video on this song... Steel Pulse-Not King James Version, The lyrics and music will open your mind... Good reggae with a meaning
That song is heavy I think I have every Bob music I am so glad I get to see is last two concerts in Boston
Irie, Mon! A redemption story is powerful throughout music, film, art and literature. It’s the RISING (as a person or as a people) to free our hearts & minds from the chains that bind.
Marley captures that struggle and the power to overcome. Thanks for sharing this powerfully simple redemption song. 😍 It speaks to that deep wisdom within us that yearns to be the hero in our lives. Catch a Fire!! 🔥
I'm an atheist white guy, but this song fills me, it's just beyond beautiful.
Absolutely! Right there with ya. Bob Marley is as close to religion as I'd ever need to be.

Sang it bruh!
I just recently discovered the Playing For Change video of this that you might like to hear. They cover songs with musicians playing different instruments and singing, all across the world. It features Stephen Marley. (Their version of the Stones' Gimme Shelter is also really good - with Taj Mahal - czcams.com/video/GJtq6OmD-_Y/video.html )The Bob Marley is here - czcams.com/video/55s3T7VRQSc/video.html Sorry, forgot to say thanks for the reaction and for playing my favourite Bob Marley song first! love from here in the uk, stay safe xx
Playing For Change does a worthy cover.
Yo your reaction is awesome. Check out NO WOMAN NO. CRY LIVE

I think he means the bible too. Because it says life will be hard for the believers and evil will run rampant.

Freddie Joachim - Bustling
Sorry, I’m not getting the ‘reaction’. Not sure why this is listed as a reaction video.
Well done, Jay! Great reaction as always because of your willingness to get to the essence of a song and consider what makes it powerful. Check this version when time permits: czcams.com/video/k_LmRcr8Mm4/video.html. 🙏🏾
To fulfill the book meaning the prophecy of the bible the bible prophecy has to be fulfilled the verse that say if one of my words pass earth and heaven will passed away that what Bob meant
Fulfil the book probably talks about English slavery..... Don't think Rastafaris believe in the bible
Slavery is gone ..this song is not INTUTCH with today's blacks ...Jamaica is just a poor country who is using racisum to make money ..just keep the hate alive ..good job ...my God wants peace ..through understanding..
Yeah right, it's still here in a different way, not the plantations but in the work force and the NFL and NBA.
