Hey Cooper, I think that the PARACHUTE HANDLE needs to be mounted so that your hand moves forward (to the front of the car) to open the chute. That way as you slow down the momentum is pulling your hand forward and it opens the PARACHUTE. Because it takes a lot of Gs to slow down from 200 MPH !

Nice welders. Not really fair comparing an entry-level MIG with professional machines. Hobart makes great professional machines that would be of similar quality to the Fronius units that you got.

i strongly disagree with the "once you go tig, you never go back" ... its 2 different processes for different things. if you are welding in some bodypanels, there is just no way you wanna do that with tig, especially if you cant prep it well enough or have gaps, thats just way easier and faster with mig. talking about faster, some stuff just has to hold together, it has to go quick, mig is your friend. in my universe, mig and tig coexist, everything has its benefits and drawbacks, but you will definitely use both

You have a Hobart MIG unit, which is a Miller. That is a great unit!! The only reason that the cabling is smaller on the Hobart is because of the amperage that the unit puts out. You can easily do an excellent weld with the Hobart!!
If you can’t weld an expensive machine won’t make you any better!!

  • @andrewthompson5040

Hey Coop not sure if anyone has mentioned yet but you can cut some vacuum line to size with a slit down one side for a grommet around the holes so it doesn't have sharp edges, helps from fraying lines and also gives it a nice look. Even though your lines seem to have good clearance, always good to have something around them just in case they do end up rubbing.

I have to do a fair amount welding where I work. I used to swear by stick welding for anything other than sheet metal. Once I taught myself to tig weld I opt for that more often than anything else. Tig is so much cleaner and easier to control once you've figured it out.
