    Hey good work! Ive rebuild this same motor several times, only thing i do different is base gaskets before pistons, put pistons in jugs and tap them to to lowest point before installing wrist pins, and install the heads before installing the push rod tubes, they will slide up in in there.
    Dig the aggesive cut on the cam box too!

      Oh, that sounds like a way easier way to do the pistons. Thanks for the tips!

    Its coming along nicely man. I finished my 93 sportster hardtail build 2 yrs ago. I ended up boring out the 883 to 1200. Keep going!

      Very soon! There is good reason for the delay in videos and I will explain in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching!

    A 93 883 is a bad choice as 91 to 93, 883 and 1200 cranks were balanced individually in 94 onwards they stuck it in the middle to save time and money,,, get the crank balanced new pistons an all..good look with the build..

      Interesting, I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the info!

      There may be a kit with the same weight 1200 pistons as the 883 std Harley piston which are quite heavy compared to today's standards.. @@cheesingarage

    Dude your bottom studs are upside down. 😢

    • @cheesingarage
      @cheesingarage  Před 6 měsíci

      Good eye, but pre 95, this is how the studs were installed from the factory. These were the stock studs, I didn't remove them.

    Hey, at 13:40 did you swap the push rods around?

    • @cheesingarage
      @cheesingarage  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I didn't swap them around, but I needed to remove them to get the rocker box back on. If you look closely, you'll see I put them back in the same spots.

    What seat is that? I like it.

    No replacement for displacement..
    😎👍😎
    Is there any draw backs to putting on a "Big Boar Kit"...jeez ..I wish I didn't do this because ..??
    Just wondering ..

    • @cheesingarage
      @cheesingarage  Před 2 lety

      I don't have it running yet but I cant imagine there will be many draw backs other than fuel mileage. If you go all the way to the far end of the performance spectrum the street-ability will suffer, but I am not coming anywhere near that with this build. I will keep you updated once it is back on the road but I don't expect anything but more fun from this conversion! Thanks for watching!

      Chances of a yard sale go way up.

    Anyone else cringe watching this? Use 1" pipe couplers on opposite corners for your jugs, did you check the ring gap? Why were the snap ring pliers under the skirt for the jug?

    • @cheesingarage
      @cheesingarage  Před 2 lety +3

      I think the snap ring pliers you're talking about is my piston ring compressor. I started checking the ring gaps around the 1:00 mark. I didn't show the entire process, but I did check the gaps.

      If your cringing you've got serious issues bud
