- Old Ghost Town - Home Haunt Halloween Attraction - Halloween Decorations DIY Check out some Halloween decoration ideas and Halloween prop inspirations from this haunted attraction of an old west ghost town haunted house walkthrough. Join us as we tour of this old abandoned mining ghost town built right in our front yard. This home haunt theme is a spooky abandoned haunted old western mining ghost town we built for for the local neighborhood to enjoy for the Halloween season. We were very much inspired by Scooby Doo Cartoons and tried to create a town with crooked un straight walls and very run own and spooky. A place Scoob and Shay would never want to go. One of the most extreme Halloween decorations and displays out there, it's a showdown of ghost town. Here is a night time walk through video production of our abandoned old western mining ghost town themed Halloween Home Haunt called Grave Rock Gulch. The two of us designed and fabricated most of everything you see in this video from the static to moving Halloween props to all the large ghost town buildings and old western town facades. We have an undertaker, train depot, jail, saloon, dentist office, barber shop, general store, and mining area. There are plenty of spooky skeletons and things to give you a scare. Haunted mine shafts with sluice boxes and a water wheel with gold panning for the kids. Take a stroll through the foggy haunted town if you dare. Be sure to stay out of the haunted jail and watch out for that Miner 49er. We hope you enjoy and be sure to check out the day time walk through.

Felt like the intro to a big movie production! Do you really have a secret crew that helped you build all of this? You can tell me, I won't tell anybody! I've been to Horror Nights at Universal for the last three years and this rivals any facades I've seen on their sound stages? I feel like Eerie Acres! You win Halloween, I'm taking my pumpkin and going home!

Wow, what can I say? It's so amazing. I love the way this was filmed, excellent perspective, and some from a child's point of view. I know a lot of kids are going to forever remember this haunt, I think you may expect 3 times the amount of kids in 2014!!

Very nice, you should go into the movie making business, can you explain how you did your camera tricks? moving up tilt etc. :)
Thanks, The footage in the video was taking by some friends of ours using their equipment. We added extra white light and kept the fog down to a minimum for clearer shots. They had a camera boom for the elevating and tilting shots which really added a great effect showing off the town. They were able to get so much detail even at night and we couldn't be more happy with the results.
I have watched all the how tos and finally this one...you both are amazing crafters but you forgot one, if not THEE most important part for your display....I won't be as mean as Jeanne and make you wait.......how did people get to the west....HORSES...wouldn't a nice horse skellie look good tied to the hitching post?
Yeah, that would have been perfect, we ran out of time for that. We did however have a real fully intact horse skull near the mine shaft area that you see in the video. Not as impressive as a full body skeleton. =)
