Most of the people comment have no knowledge in the Maori language, have no knowledge in language families, and those claiming to know Japanese are idiotic teens who probably took year 10 Japanese and think they're fluent. I bet none of you know of Proffessor Naoko Yui is. If you have researched, your would know old Japanese and Austronesian are cousin languages which both originated from the same language family “austro- japonic” or “old austronesian”. The Jomon Japanese were Austronesian themselves, that's why they speak an AUSTRONESIAN language. Don't learn modern Japanese and claim you know about the entire language and archaic versions of it. Stupid people.
