Everything I’ve heard points to it being shoved aside to raise up Star Wars and Marvel.
Kinda both sad and glad it was a one off, a sequel would have taken from the epic ending of the movie, but at the same time, there would be so much room for new music and new stories from the grid.
But at the same time, I think they won't be as good if we get a whole universe and movie series as big as Star Wars. Last I heard, Tron 3 got the green light, and if that's even at least as good as the original, I think they should stop there.

I really like the look of the grid, and the overall plot is pretty good, but I personally just didn’t find it that interesting. That’s just my opinion. We do need a sequel though.

Some good news, due to Tron: 3 in the works and Disney+, There is massive talks of Uprising 2 being made.
The Problem with Tron: 3 though is the fact one of the key factors in the movie being made was Daft Punk being on board, if they were not on board then the film most likely won't be made nor will Uprising 2, BUT, From what I have seen Tron: 3 is already being made and has been for months so who knows, Daft Punk may have already made the music for the film, I mean what is a Tron film without them?? Though the music in Uprising was made to be like Legacy but was not made by Punk (least far I am aware).
In simple, I think Uprising 2 is already being made just like Tron: 3 and is expected to release mid to late THIS year, around the time of the long awaited Matrix: 4.
Tron 3 is under construction but due to Disney+ existing and being a massive hit, There are talks of Uprising 2 and maybe 3 being made.
That would be super f*cking cool and I would pay anything to watch how the series ends, been MANY years, come on already Disney.

TRON: Legacy is lowkey my favorite live action Disney movie, let alone one of my favorite movies of all time! Daft Punk’s parting really upsets me, cuz I’m really looking forward to to TRON 3, and Daft Punk’s music-the sound of orchestral cyberpunk techno hybrid, enhances the TRON franchise greatly.

When I heard about Daft Punk breaking up my immediate thoughts were to not only be upset but wonder if not them, whos going to make the OST for TRON 3? The OST for TRON Legacy was borderline perfection and I couldn't imagine anyone else doing the soundtrack.
My picks are always Joseph Trapanese(the dude who did the Tron: Uprising soundtrack) and The Glitch Mob(who just so happens to have the best Tron remix song.)

Wasn't Legacy...made...by Disney? As far as I'm aware, they revived the series based on a single older film. I could be wrong (and probably am), but it seemed like Tron was dead before Legacy arrived, so doesn't that mean Disney revived it for one film? (Also wasn't there a whole Disney animated series?) @@stonewoodstudios There was supposed to be "Tron ascension" a third movie which was cancelled cause the movie didn't sell enough toy and apparently 400 million box office wasn't enough (Compared live action of Disney classics). Also actors said they were done with tron seeing how Disney was treating the franchise.

While Give Life Back To Music is the perfect start in Daft Punks Music This, Tron: End Titles is the perfect ending. Its like its about to end but then it tells us we are reborn. Its like its saying keep on fighting. Its a ending, just not a ending like with death. Its bigger then that. It moves on.

TRON has literally changed my life by giving me a fascination for Artificial Intelligence. However, watching Legacy even after almost 11 years blows my mind. The grid still feels like a futuristic dream. The story may have had flaws but the music was pure delight. Especially derezzed, Son of Flynn and Recognizer are one the best music pieces I've ever come across. Daft Punk have changed how we imagined Electronic music and now with the new TRON 3 coming I really hope they team up again just one to score the film. I am 21 today but that 10 year old me even today yearns for a sequel. Can we please go back in the grid again It's been a long long time!
