I sometimes like a plain chow mein from my takeaway and get a tub of sweet n sour sauce to pour on it....nice extra side dish x

Singapore Chow Mein or fried rice are the best things in most Chinese takeaways. If they are good, then the rest usually is too. Always the first thing I get from somewhere new.

Good portion size for price. Looks good but not into noodles so not sure if I'd buy one
Calling that Chow Mein is like calling deep fried jackfruit "fish". That, is not even close to what Chow Mein actually is. A spicy... GRAVY?! Chow Mein is leftover noodles and veg fried together, it was a peasant dish, they didn't have chilli and reduced stocks to make a thick gravy and that for a left over meal lol
Chill out mate. It’s just a commercial ready meal!

Price is very reasonable, I guessed £3.99.
A decent weight, however over half of it is water. Very deceptive in my opinion. Looks really sloppy, but love your fierce reaction to the salt and pepper seasoning. You are better off getting the Vespa Chow Mein, hardly any kick in that.

Eating ducks is just wrong on all levels and in many cases it's baby ducks that are served up.
Of course you are now going to HAVE to order and review a special chow mein from your Chinese takeaway. It's way nicer than that looks, and it isn't spicy

I love chow main but why do they insist in putting five spice powder in it. Takeaway's don't put five spice and aren't swimming in watery gravy.

I don’t like the look of that swimming in sauce,chow mein isn’t like that.Chinese food doesn’t have fish sauce either,that’s a Thai,and Vietnamese sauce.
I put fish sauce in loads of dishes. Bolognese, soups, beef stew, chicken pie, fish pie, even a drop or two in cheese sauce. It ramps up savoury flavours, whatever the culture of origin.

I thought this was absolutely rank, makes my back end wince just thinking about eating it again 🤮🤮🤮 it's so overpoweringly flavoured with pepper and has a real nasty bitter after taste, not for me! Gross!
