Awake and Dark, especially DARK, is absolutely exceptional.
In my view it's not smelling like food, it's smelling like places where food plays a prominent role, restaurants, cafes, kitchens, bakeries etc. All places where people are generally happy and comfortable.
My favorite sort of gourmand is My Greek Lover by Untamed. It's not all gourmand, but has a strong citrus (and grape) opening with some nice herbal notes after that reminds me a lot of Greek restaurants. Basically the only nice restaurants I could afford when I was a University student.

I'm a man that loves gourmand scents. Idc if anyone is bothered by it. I am an Army war vet and would be in a strategic planning conference smelling like exotic fruits. Right now I'm wearing a lot of Tonkazure and smell like blueberry compost. I got the Mystery Box and Calaj- Delizia Oscura is a sexy chocolate potent fragrance I love.

I get the fruity notes in Italica also, and I'm blind, so definitely not influenced by the color of the bottle. It reminds me of some cherry cereal I had as a child-we used it to make a version of George Washington's apocryphal cherry tree for an art project.

I really love Mind Games- Grand Master, it's kinda of a different take on Ristretto Intense Cafe with the rose, cafe, but changed up with myrrh, incense and panacotta! Pretty beastly too!

I enjoyed Theodoros Kalotinis Coffee Addict. That smelled like realistic toffee with caramel, like a creamy syrup. They have a big range of fragrances that lean gourmand.

I'm not a gourmand girl but Fior di Pane is GORGEOUS. To me it smells like caramelized popcorn.
I love gourmand fragrances, and have collected several from this list. I am particularly fond of the Akro fragrances. Dark, Awake and Bake are favorites. I use them together a lot after you suggested I do so. I also use them with Mancera fragrances frequently. Bake and Amore Caffè is a combination I particularly enjoy.

Particularly glad for the detail of mentioning "similar idea" between Unknown Pleasures and Bake. I'm a fan of Akro, but given the difference in drydowns, I'll take the Kerosene option where there are similar fragrances. (Give me Follow, over Awake, too -- again just they way develop). Thought about this from samples, a bunch, liking both houses in general. I'm really curious to sample the Profumo di Firenze! Never tried any bready fragrance, to my recollection. Thanks for the survey, once again, Sebastian.

Man, there are some good ones here. I tend to like scents that have gourmand elements, but don't just smell like food. For instance, I love Loudo, Bee, and Rouge Saray, but I'm not as into Unknown Pleasures and Whiff of a Waffle Cone. Speaking of Rouge Saray...have you heard if they are ever going to give us an extrait of that one? I figured it was a sure shot once they started with the extraits, but haven't heard anything in the last couple years.
Great video! Some of these sound quite enticing and I will be getting samples if possible. Question: What fragrances smell like wine, particularly a dark, rich red wine?

I sprayed the Delizia Oscura sample on the blotter card one too many times and I cannot get the smell out of my living room. I have washed all the pillows and blankets. I lit candles sprayed air fresheners and it is still lingering. Might be the strongest perfume I've ever smelled!

Sebastian, you mention Kerosene quite a lot, yet never a fragrance called Sweetly Known, which to me it smells like baked cookies, if you haven’t tried it, please do, I think you will love it 😊
As long as people eat desserts, we will always have gourmand fragrances. I just wish the fragrance world would tap into more non-western based desserts like Asian or Middle-Eastern dessert inspired frags.

I don’t love full on Gourmands but love gourmand notes. Something else has to be going on. I love floral and herbal notes in my food. Although I love coffee and chocolate and vanilla flavours, I don’t really like them in the forefront of my fragrances.
I usually steer clear of gourmands, especially modern vanillas which tend to smell like smeared, salty butter on my skin; very unpleasant and greasy.😅I enjoy sniffing them in the bottles though.
Tom Ford Vanilla Sex… I was super excited about it, but when I tested it in the local store, I got quite disappointed.. to me is quite bland, but maybe I need a more thorough test.

This is just a theory, but perhaps people like gourmands because they eat a lot of sugar and it carries over to fragrance preferences. According to the AHA, “American adults consume an average of 17 teaspoons of added sugar every day, more than 2-3 times the recommended amount for men and women respectively”. At least fragrance is calorie free, but I find gourmands can trigger food cravings for me.
The only thing I love more than a gourmand is a boozy gourmand. 😊
Ok I am a gourmand lover, but one thing I dislike deeply is oversweet perfumes. I was sooooo disappointed in Amore Coffee. I LOVE coffee with milk and sugar. I am a fan of coffee but this one smells like a bad over sweet tiramisu. I am super disappointed. So sad. II can t diff Montale and MAncera perfumes. So sad they are the rare ones to make dessert coffee perfumes. stanbul and the Diorama are so amazing, true! PROFUMO DI FIRENZE Matelda, is the best gourand from this house.
