I've a question that how giving Ergocalciferol fixes vit D functions in CKD as Ergocalciferol will not be converted into active 1,25(OH) vit D cz of failed kidneys?

Doc just a question. Is it possible for a ckd cause a patient to be paralize? The reason i ask is that my nephew 26 was diagnosed with accute kidney injury on top of probable ckd. He undergone dialysis and after a days he is no longer able to move as if his paralized.
