Will and Dawn have gone outdoor shopping today. The NOC is just outside the park entrance and is wonderful if you need something for walking or hiking. Backpacks, camping gear, tents, mostly everything you need. Then it was on to the New Orleans Sandwich Shop. It’s located in, I think, Baskins Square. On the wall, there is money, mainly dollar bills, stapled to the restaurant. That is so cool! Will ordered the “Fat Tuesday” po boy. It looked so good. Dawn ordered a chicken po boy sandwich. The name of it on the menu no one could pronounce, Tchy something. Hers looked real good, too. Both were great. Will and Dawn have done it yet again. Great video!
I believe that the NOC building was originally built as a restaurant . Old Dad's across the street is our favorite for a good quick breakfast / lunch to eat in or to go. A local favorite!!
I love Old Dad's, many a great breakfast in there. The coffee is good too.

Oh, I almost forgot... A New Orleans tradition is when you pay off your mortgage, you have a mortgage burning party!(we find any reason to throw a party). So, you paint your front door red because you're no longer in the red financially, and you throw a party to burn your mortgage, and display your deed. Everyone celebrates with you

Love the view from the rocking chairs at NOC. Sat there during a rain storm, was great. Did not know the sandwich shop was there. There are many reasons I love your films but one of them is that you always show us somewhere I never knew was there! Will make sure I visit there next trip. Cheers guys x

Y'all gotta get down to New Orleans soon and try the food here! Tchopitoulas (chop a tool us) is the name of an Indian tribe and a New Orleans street so it isn't a French word. Zydeco (zaaay de co) is a type of music you might enjoy so check out some CZcams videos to see it. I have a few videos on my channel featuring my friend Rockin' Dopsie Jr. that is a Zydeco musician and he plays the washboard and sings. Right now there still are very few tourists around so we need visitors and you can get in most places really easy. Some of the nicer restaurants will have special Reveillon (re vee on) menus going til a bit after New Years and then plenty of po boy joints that are great although for the price of some of the po boys these days you could eat lunch in one of the nicer restaurants. When you go back to the NEW ORLEANS sandwich co. try the muffalatta. It's a very popular sandwich in New Orleans.There it's big enough for two. Always love your volgs.

Next time you go to tha New Orleans Sandwich Shop you need to try a Muffaletta . One of the best sandwiches you will ever eat...Will would love it . It has everything on it that you like.. maybe Google it and they will show you how it's made. It's a only in New Orleans Sandwich!! I love them.

Chop-a-2-lus is good phonic spelling. Zy-da-co is a type of Cajun music. Pronounce the "zy' like "lie with a z...zie. Burgundy is pronounced Ber-gun-dee! New Orleans doesn't lean!! Prounounced New---Or-Luns. The owners are from Bucktown, LA. Right next to New Orleans. You said Po Boy correctly. They were originally called "Poor Boy" because if you couldn't afford a sandwich with meat or fish, you could get a dressed (lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo) Poor Boy which was french fries with the roast beef gravy, which gave you a few slithers of roast beef. Eventually, all the sandwiches were called Poor Boy, then shortened to "Po Boy". Wait til y'all come to NOLA, I'm going to make y'all explode!! LOL😅😂🤣
