Hats off to our boy Aron Eisenberg, finest cadet Starfleet ever knew.
@@realbuzzlightyear he was on boston leagal with captain kirk, and the original Daniel Jackson.
He played the skeleton in the 1982 cartoon movie "The Last Unicorn".
Where's the "this is the greatest thing ever" button?
except for the flaw...
Yeah, no kidding right...
@@zaniq23 What is the flaw (could you also provide a timestamp please)?
It’s on the arm of your chair, captain. Big red one
Always incredible work. Would love to see a post-Nemesis TNG style opening credits with the Enterprise-E
That’s the most interesting proposition I’ve read in a while. We already have an HD TNG intro so I felt it would be pointless recreating it. This idea is something I would enjoy working with, leave it with me Sir, I've pinned this comment to the top of the page, lets see if it gains some traction!
NeonVisual how about one better - doing an Enterprise E style TNG intro that has Voyager like backdrops instead of just flying at the camera for some variety
Maybe even use like the First Contact theme instead of just the TNG theme
@@MegamanEXEv2 exactly what I was thinking
Awesome idea!
Love how the Defiant lights up as it launches. It is the small touches that show how committed you are to doing it right.
watching the life pond lights sync on as it was launching was very cool.
Yes I saw that; great touches little touches as the Defiant’s registry lights pop on, warp and impulse systems power up... and I could also see details in the ventral windows as she manoeuvred around the station pylon and flew past; brilliant!
I always thought it was badass in episodes when the Defiant would detach from the station, and a close up would show a light coming on, on the hull, lighting up the word Defiant!!!!!!
There's just one word that comes to mind whenever I hear that music: Home.
That's what I get from voyager. Some people's home was on the station, mine was on that ship.
I know right. But I really wonder who lives on Discovery? 🤔
@@Morgue12free A group of very boring and badly written characters.
Same.. this is exactly what i feel when i hear the song. HOME
@@Morgue12free A bunch of terrible people.
DS9 really should have had a big budget movie after the series ended. It was so good.
I would have been there for sure, although I don't think it is was needed. It was a beautiful ending and maybe the best that Star trek has ever done.
I thought the same thing until season 7, and then (spoiler alert) the last episode ended with Sisko joining the prophets, making a movie all but impossible.
Robert Pierson yeah and that’s why pale moon light was one of the highest rated episodes
@Robert Pierson That was the only part of the show that I really didn't like. I could accept that the prophets are these beings from another dimension, and maybe they chose Sisko because there was something about him that they liked or found admirable or useful, but then they had to go and mess it up with the stupid as hell plot revelation that he was born because the Prophets possessed his biological mom. Jumped the shark too hard.
I am pretty new to DS9 even if I kinda liked TNG, DS9 Dialogs in S1 and S2 are very stupid, flat and strange to be honest. there is nearly no character progression and everything seems so pointless... it is aged very badly to be honest.
I love that you put both Dax's in the credits!
Yeah, but as Ezri alone. Not Jadzia & Ezri.
Ezri was always confused. When she was married to Wor.. I mean when Jadzia was married to Worf...
Jadzia is the only Dax I recognize. My only gripe with DS9, an otherwise perfect show, is that they had to add Ezri to appease angry Dax fans. They couldn't just make the decision to kill off a character and leave her dead. They made sure their main character was the only one that could pass her memories down before killing off, then made a discount version of her.
@@axenledgie1423 That the dax symbiote allowed them to essentially recast the dax character was coincidence, not planned. They didnt decide "lets kill someone off" and settle on Dax so they could bring her back. Terry Farrell was having contract issues with the producers and opted out of the show when the conflict couldnt be resolved
@@Jarsia Ah, alright, that makes more sense. Thanks for correcting me, I should do my research next time.
Everyone has their Star Trek. This was mine. God bless you Spike TV and the DS9 summer marathon.
the debris from the comet actually looks like ice and snow now
I'd opin that the comet needs more fuzziness and less distinction since its outgassing fog and ice melt. The trail is great and should be sharp but the ball of ice should be a shrouded ball of ice and rock.
The Defiant has never looked so good!!!
She's a good-looking ship alright.
Man, I'm only watching this at 1080p but I started crying right at the beginning. I also screamed at my screen when I saw the close-up of the station.
Thank you so much for doing this in your free time and making every Trekkie who sees this smile. Dude, this is really fantastic, keep up the great work!!
Me too brother. I feel you, 100%.
you need to get out more if you cry about this sort of stuff, it's not healthy
Same here! I choke up every time I start the series over and hear the music start...
We all live fast paced and stressful lives. Letting out some emotion over something you love, and potentially grew up with is healthy.
Btw, how to get 1080 version?
Man… just hearing the melody makes me cry from nostalgia and also knowing that it’s a time passed that will never come back
Today is 30 yrs since Star trek DS9
The wormhole opening was amazing! Beautiful work!!
This is what I say to my girlfriend every night.
DS9 so deserves a remaster! It's a shame that the studio hasn't deemed it worthy of one
They just can't make money off it, who buys DVDs anymore? Not enough to pay for remastering 170 episodes...
@@BGRANT777X I do
It hasn't been bc the CGI effects used in later episodes were done in Standard def, and would have to be completely recreated for Hi-Def. Same situation for Voyager.
@PaulIsDeadMissHim TOS and TNG were shot on film, both have been digital remastered for DVD and then remastered again for HD BluRay
@@benclark3621 I know that, but there was no CGI on those shows.
When I was watching this live at 1:21 I saw like, "Did he fix the Defiant?"
1:32 "OMG He did!" -Thank you so much.
I was like did he leave it in??? that would have been a cool nod
@@munkykng416 What was changed?
@@why_i_game i know this is a month late but the nose of the ship was out of place in the original. it coast to much money to fix at the time
Mhm the CG model used in the intro had the navigational deflector aligned slightly below the saucer, when it is supposed to be protruding.
Setting it at 1080p just..
This brings tears to my eyes.
This is one of the best Opening credits I've watched from Star Trek series, which gives me hope for a brighter and STELLAR future, where one day Mankind will finally explore the stars. Space: the Final Frontier. 🚀🛰️🛸
I started to watch every episode of Deep Space Nine last night. I'm going to go work at summer camp this summer. I don't think I'll get it done before I leave but I hope to get to the Dominion War before I leave
OH YES! Not watching this on mobile; going to wait until I get home and can watch it on the big monitor! Already know it's going to be incredible!
heh heh, very wise sir :)
Of all the remasters I've seen of DS9's intro, this one has the most accurate motion. It really was done masterfully.
Can we make it official canon that the Defiant powers up like that?! I love the blue things coming on in order after the ship name lights up
That was the most fantastic effects and elements enhancement I've ever seen created for a TV intro. Brilliant. This is CANON and should go into every future episode remaster.
I must say the amount of detail in this. I simply ADORE the small things mainly the attention to defiant powering up. :)
Imagine this being made for the DS9 documentary... it's too late now, but still woulda been awesome
I think what strikes me if the 90s designs meshing with the high quality, honestly. The choices of design and theme were sooooooo much more superior to modern day grim nonsense. In the modern day everything is dark and shiny in the dark and dimly lit. Everything here is perfectly and perfectly captures the atmosphere of DS9.
I think for me the best part at 4k is the comet. The way the particles work so well with the panning of the camera into the trail and then out again is spectacular!
NeonVisual, you have done it again.
When I finished watching this the first time, I cried tears of joy. DS9 is my favorite “Star Trek” series, and this brought back so many happy memories for me.
Keep up the excellent work!
That was beautiful, loved how detailed the station and defiant was.
Work of art! Thank you so much for being part of the fans community in such a beautiful way. Great respect for your work.
The worm hole opening gave me the chills. Great job on this!
Beautiful! Stunning! And finally the Defiant looks the way she's supposed to look!
And... is that a Maquis raider?
And, and... another Runabout above one of the inner ring's landing pads?
Or is this so perfect that I'm hallucinating?!
I cannot express how impressed I am by this. Every frame was a treat for fans of the show. You did an amazing job on how smooth everything is and seamless. The wormhole, station, everything was perfect. Well done!
That was beautiful
This is one of the most amazing things ever on CZcams! DAMN YOU PARAMOUNT! GIVE US DS9 4K!!
The old girl (Defiant) looks awesome! Teared up. Thank you for this.
Because Ds9 is amazing. I thought about shedding a manly tear but they dropped the Maverick trailer.
That wasn't a tear, it was manly eye maintenance fluid.
Blinker fluid 😁
Awesome work as always! The wormhole turned out beautifully.
Outstanding!
Amazing, literally gave me goosebumps. You always do such an amazing job with these. The particles flying off the asteroid and the wormhole look stunning. And then DS9 and the Defiant make me wish there was a new season with Siskos return.
Epic chills! this brings me back
Awesome work! Well done! Thumbs up! Greetings!
Beautiful!
Nahh nothing can take the feels away from the original.
Very very good. One of my favorite star trek series. Thank you for making this 4k intro. Big thumbs up.
Another amazing intro. Doesn't CBS and Paramount asked you to work with them. U have huge talent for this.
Uhh well this video is already under a copyright dispute by CBS.
They have no honor, and their mother's all have smooth foreheads.
@@NeonVisual fuckin pinkskins.
This version really shows off how big DS9 Really is!
One error though - it says Terry Farrell and Nicole DeBoer as Ezri Dax.
Terry Farrell was Jadzia Dax... Nicole was Ezri...
This is stunning. I've been re-watching all the old episodes and this just makes me yearn for all the episodes to be reworked into high-resolution. Thank you for doing this.
Outstanding. Great Job.
DS9 is my favorite Star Trek series and the best.
Looks Amazing
I love how the Defiant powers up.
The defiant looks awesome
If I may be permitted to give one piece of feedback. It should be either:
Terry Farrell as Jadzia Dax
Nicole deBoer as Ezri Dax
or
Terry Farrell & Nicole deBoer as Dax
Yeah, sharing credits like that definitely raises union and/or contract issues. But it was a nice idea for this video.
Who cares about Ezri Dax anyways
@@vivaelbetis2086 I liked Ezri. Nicole did some great work with the character in just one season.
As much as I loved Jadzia, it's Terry's fault her character got killed off after she decided being in Becker was more important than the final season of DS9.
@@ArcaneSurreal That is a common misconception. If you watch the DS9 documentary, its was executive producer Rick Berman during contract negotiations telling her that you'll take what we give you and like it because you don't have a career without us. She actually wanted the finish out the series but Berman was being a dick. Alot of the cast and crew of Star Trek from that era felt the same way.
The wormhole is perfect! Well done! I can’t believe how much I miss this show. Great work!
OMG! Now I want the whole series remastered to 1080p. PLEASE!!! I swear I'll buy the whole series as soon as it's released.
Loved the added FXs detail on the Defiant leaving Space Dock!
I want this series remastered in HD more than is probably healthy.
Unfortunately that is not possible with our current technology. Since both DS9 and Voyager were shot on tape, you cannot easily get anymore detail than what is already there. Had it been on film, then they would have remastered it.
However with that said, there is some major progress in remastering this series as well as voyager with a technology called Deep Learning Super Sampling. The same technology that Nvidia is using in their RTX cards to make games look better can soon be used on video like this to make a "remastered" copy. But it would not be the leaps and bounds like the TNG remaster was.
czcams.com/video/hInQkqmjn48/video.html&feature=emb_title
Stunning! Gives me the chills. Makes me fall in love with the show again.
Deep space nine looks so sharp
Watching this is like coming home after being away for far too long. I hope in the years to come with all the new star trek shows we all get to see what happened to the characters from Deep Space 9.
You're work is absolutely stunning and me and my friends are so grateful you are remastering these amazing shows intros!! Cant wait to see what else you have in store!
Is there any chance you could ever do the Battle of Wolf 359?
I could resolve the part 1 cliffhanger by having the Enterprise's deflector dish actually destroy the Borg cube..
@@NeonVisual I wouldnt ask you to, not without a big ol crowd fund anyway, but I would honestly LOVE to see a good, high quality depiction of the battle of Nerendra III.
It's such an important battle in trek lore and we never see a glimpse of it (at least Emissary gave us a quick rundown of Wolf 359). I always imagined the romulans doing quick in and out of cloak strikes. A few disruptor blasts and disappear again, until 1701 C sees a pattern and saturates an area with phaser fire followed by a full spread of proximity detonated photon torps that destroys 1 warbird before it can decloak and get it's shields up. After that the other 3 stop playing games and all decloak and go full bore on the already damaged ship. Flying headlong into the 3 warbirds with barely functional weapons the enterprise feints a hard turn to port, and the lead warbird, expecting them to run, turns to pursue. Expecting this, Enterprise reverses thrusters and turns into the oncoming warbird, which collides with it at the neck, cutting the ship in half, severing a nacelle, and disabling the warbird. The saucer with Yar and the other survivors deflects off the top of the warbird and is thrown in one direction, while the engineering hull is thrown in another direction and catches yes another warbird unawares(think the pegasus launch bay killing the cylon basestar), with the resulting warp core detonation destroying not only that ship, but also the fairly close disabled warbird that collided with enterprise, leaving the last warbird to capture the saucer.
That's the most basadd(was gonna correct that typo but, I got a chuckle out of it for some reason) way I can think of for the 1701-C to go down, so it's my headcanon.
Jarsia wow, essay much
@@ludbud57 well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I was trying to describe a 2-3 minute video
@@Jarsia VideoSpaceFX did a really nice interpolated video a few years back of the battle.
Wow!
By God this needs the full 4K treatments the fans need!
Love the output and respect the work involved. I love this show and really want it to have a fresh coat of paint. Doing my best with AI remastering the DVDs right now. Congrats again - looks lovely
Voyager 4K intro here czcams.com/video/sns1Xj6L-Qc/video.html
Deep Space Nine has always been a love child for me. The center of the Star Trek universe I feel since it seemed every main event occurred right there. Wars, unity, conflict, and love. To see this beloved show in such a beautiful display makes me so happy. 4K is truly giving this opening a well needed and appreciated light. Bravo.. I really love this.
Uh. you are going to hate me...…… Terry Farrell played "Jadzia Dax", Nicole DeBoer played "Ezri Dax". Both had the symbiote, but two different characters. BUT I LOVE THE VIDEO. FANTASTIC WORK.
Amazing and wonderful... Last year I followed the most of Star Trek and those were incredible. Congradulations for the new clothes on these intros.
More more more more more :D - even better... teach us all how to do it, lets team up and product some decent stuff for once! :D
Dude, you've made some of my all time favorite Star Trek intros exponentially better, and I have to ask, are you planning on remaking some of the scenes as well? DS9's sacrifice of Angels would be incredible
Wow, that was absolutely thrilling!
Wow, well done! Even the music remaster was excellent!
This brought back so many memories. The thing that brought me here was Star Treks: Lower Decks DS9 episode.
For me this was definitely the best in the Star Trek Universe
I agree! This show helped me survive severe pneumonia about a decade ago. I was a fan when it first came out but never finished it. Now I want to start it over again just for the nostalgia 🖤 The opening still makes me tear up.
I find it ironic that someone like you can remaster this intro so beautifully.. but the Scrooges at CBS can't be assed to remaster this series properly for DVD/Blu Ray...
Yeah, I need to save this to my favorites playlist. This is incredible!
Astounding work! The detail on DS9 makes my heart flutter. How ever long that took you, it was worth every second.
Awesome job. The DS9 visuals are absolutely incredible!
Looks & Sounding amazing! Shall have to watch it again on the big screen 👍
4K full screen very very loud, take me back Neon Visual!
Those opening french horns, then the Defiant coming out of the shadows of the docking pylon. Shivers...
DS9, above all the others, got me through some pretty rough years as a young man. This hit me right in the feelz, great job.
This is incredibly well made... Thank you for your efforts, it looks fantastic!
Thank you for watching, and for taking the time to comment :-)
Simply breathtaking.
I'm a bit blown away by the visuals of this vid. Wonderfully great job!
Holy shit Xander, this is pure.
Nicely done olchap
Cheers man :)
I love DS9.
Oh man, I was just wondering how this was coming along the other night. Incredible work. The wormhole effect is perfect.
The only thing that jumped out as a bit off to me was the Dax credit. With Kira being listed as Colonel, this seems to be leaning more toward S7 title sequence, but if both Farrell and DeBoer are going to be listed, it doesnt seem proper to specify Jadzia or Ezri, rather just list Lieutenant Dax. Also is that work bee floating around without a pilot?
Ahh, dont mind me. Nitpicking is in my nature. The whole piece is every bit as stunning as the voyager intro you did. I like that you replaced generic stock model #16 with the courier ship. Also the Defiant's plasma exhaust, engines, lights, etc... powering up in sequence was a very nice touch.
The Worker Bee also has no robotic arms to manipulate any external objects, perhaps it's enjoying it's retirement as a non-working bee :-) Try as I might I couldn't source a Bajoran freighter, well spotted!
@@NeonVisual That freighter model was incredibly overused anyway, I like the Condor/Ju'day(whatever the class of that thing is) better anyway. Even a bajoran impulse craft or something else would have been cool.
I also never thought the workbees had arms (seems unimaginative, or as Doug Drexler would say, monkey brained), I always just assumed the glowy blue bit was a tractor emitter. But turns out there were ones with arms on them in generations and that 1 voyager episode at utopia planetia. I was more wondering where the pilot was. Maybe the guys doing the EVA repairs are remote controlling it to grab more supplies from the cargo bay, or they forgot to put the parking brake on, as it were.
Watching again, I'm really noticing how much detail there is in the stations windows. From what I know of the physical model, that detail was actually there, but there are precious few shots where you can see it in any but the promenade windows. Again, beautiful work. And just in time for me, as I'm close to season 4 of my DS9 rewatch.
Wow, you brought back so many memory's. Truly, TNG and this amazing show were some of the best of the 90's. You just reminded me to go re-watch the baseball episode, it is epic. I need more DS9 in my life.
Thank you for this. I love this show so much, and it so deserves an HD upgrade. Your work here makes me wish for it even more
Better than the original! Nice work.
lol, of course its better than the original hyper low res.. what will be the point if not??? :p
Bonus points if you can find the Easter egg runabout launching ;-) Side by side comparison of this intro here: czcams.com/video/j-l9HKs8vXM/video.html

Another damned fine anthem from the Star Trek team of composers.
This moved me. Beautifully done!
I watched the death out of this when I was in prison got to season 6
Not even joking my favourite Star Trek Sisko Garak and the Cheif rock of course I am Irish and former Royal Navy.
THAT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!! I Loved the Defiant's Warp engines charging up as it left space dock and the guys working on the station pylon. Great effort to detail and that Worm Hole effect is fantastically spot on! The clarity of everything makes me want to show this on a huge screen. How many people over there worked on this? How long did it take to render? Was it several connected rendered segments or one long one? Can I post this on Twitter to Seth McFarland and the Orville group?
Just me! 7 segments in total. The first part with the asteroid was actually the last in my workflow because I was procrastinating over the particle simulations but it came together quickly in the end. Then I did them in order from the first shot after the title card right up until the wormhole, because I was procrastinating out to try creating that too. But generally as I progressed I went back to previous scenes to tinker and re-render a few times. I wasn't intending on uploading for another week or so but I had a day off today so went all creating the DS9 logo, all of the cast credits, some missing sound FX and a quick tinker with my NV logo to the DS9 title colours. Please feel free to repost, that would be awesome because I don't do much social media anymore! - Xan
NeonVisual Someone really needs to hire you for this sort of thing. At the end of each upload, I say 'I don't think they can one-up this' and then you go and do something like that. The wormhole looks absolutely stunning! Keep up the amazing work!
This insanely puts my TOS intro remake to shame. Congratulations on this wonderful work
I've just watched it, great work and very authentic!
NeonVisual Thankyou, maybe if I keep practising I can improve it. I’ve been wanting to redo it to have an animated red planet this time
I screamed laughed when I saw the PERFECT animation of the Profits Wormhole open and close. Some Trek animators have done widescreen HD DS9 intros but never got the Wormhole animation right. WELL DONE!
Am I the only one who noticed that neon visuals changed there logo to match ds9 logo?
weird, there's something stuck in my eye
Thank you so much for this. This has made my night!!!!
What an absolutely stunning work of art! Thank you for putting in so much time and effort so we could enjoy our love for canon trek again, if only for 2 minutes.
Always hated the theme remix with the jingle bell percussion backbone with a passion. It forces the horns and trumpets into this very fast and tightly timed corset that doesn't allow them to breath freely like in the original version, so the effect is that they drag behind the jingle beat 90% of the time and it all ends up sounding like a badly jumbled mess. How could anyone approve this...
I love thos the only way i would improve it is if u put Lieutenant Dax instead of Lieutenant ezri dax because they were both two different people
:-) In all of my drafts over the last month or so I only had Nicole DeBoer there, but today last minute decided it would be a crime not to include Terry too. You're right, I should have changed it to Dax, or listed all of the previous hosts too
@@NeonVisual Would changing it mean rendering the whole thing again, or is the text just overlaid?
How have I not seen this sooner!? I've got chills, literal goosebumps. Great job!
Beautiful!! My compliments to you and the team for this wonderful recreation in 4k
