Very helpful video, got my new water pump on quite easily using it. Thank you.
A couple of possible hints for anyone else doing this.
1. Spray or smear a little silicone lube on the o-ring between the pump and the flange, it definitely helps the pump slip into the flange easier.
2. Undo all four supercharger bolts a little. Pull the supercharger out a fraction to help the water pump engage with it easier.
It was helpfull, I would add: check and recheck that you don't pinch your new o ring, mine would have got cut if I hadn't looked and poked it into the hole. Removing the supercharger would have been easier if the belt I used wasn't on the short side from the supercharger pulley change putting the needed length between sizes. Also, guide the small hose on as you install it, it's about 3" long and impossible to put in after, without taking the pipe loose. Also a big hassle. Thank you though, it helped.
This method does work, I've done it before, although as you mention, I recommend doing supercharger service and water pump all at once.
The supercharger service is it the one that consist in filling up the supercharger oil ? I'm about to change the water pump this weekend.
Short and concise - THANK YOU! - old git, UK
Thanks for the video save me a gang of time.
Real mvp right here helped so much
Thank you for the video. Did this over the weekend, putting the new water pump in was a lot of fun (sarcasm) but it worked! Thanks again
Thank you sir
Hey there. The piece of the intake after the throttle body doesn’t want to just “move down” even with some heavy force. Open to some suggestions on how to get it to wiggle down a bit so I can get to the water pump.
Did this, broke the water pump flange in removal. And what a pain to reinstall with new seals this way. And still have a leak.. remove the supercharger it’s the best way..
Put in the front end in service mode and removing the radiator is a lot easier…
Will a messed up water pump cause a squealing nose?
It is possible to all the haters. Took a good amount of shimmy but success. Keep the 8's on the flange loose and you can squeeze it through. Can also use the bolts to line it up.
Are both the o rings same size?
yea
The wheels are off for brake bleeding, has nothing to do with the water pump.
You Do not takeoff the bumper.radiator.you doing wrong
yea good luck accessing the water pump without removing the bumper and radiator, if you can do that, awesome
I noticed you didn't show the reinstallation. BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK. The flange and the water pump into the supercharger are at different angles. The flange 10mm bolts must be removed to remove the water pump this way, but the reinstallation of the bottom bolt is near impossible. Removing the water pump this way will either break the flange or damage the supercharger. BE CAREFUL OF CZcamsR THAT DOES NOT SHOW REINSTALLS. DONT WAST YOUR TIME WITH THIS PROCESS.!!!
Sure it does, how do you think I reinstalled it?
@@emmacaseyhollmann3152 your a women so there is no way in hell you did this yesterday, last week or ever! 🙄
@@aDIYCarGuy you got lucky. Why not just remove the super charger? The guy that owned car before me probably watched your video. My super charger vane for the coupler to water pump was broken after I just recently removed my water pump. Leak again.
Wow stupid video,I need to know what size Torx was needed for the housing and you didn't even show that part I guess I see why you messed it up the first time
you're a clown, use a few torx bits and see which one fits, not that hard
@@aDIYCarGuy wow, some people. Thanks for the vid as an optional method to removing the SC.
You don’t even need to remove the torx bolts to take the pump off🤣🤣 so there was no need to put that in the video
