Hey Charlie this looks great! My favorite! My wife rest in peace used to make it about 40 years ago quite a number of times! Lemon is my favorite! But I can't eat all that pie and try to lose weight at the same time! I used to make lemon filled cookies with fresh squeezed lemon custard with Splenda! You explain really well and make it a pleasure to watch and learn! If I was as Slim As You Are oh, I would make this tomorrow LOL keep sending the great recipes that still fun to watch! Take care!

I made this tonight and shared it to my Facebook story, as well as shared this video to Facebook. The lemon curd was delicious and used less sugar than the 1.5 cups I'd normally use from the Better Homes and Gardens recipe. This was also the first time I made a Swiss meringue. I can't wait to eat this pie tomorrow when it's nice and cold.

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie this recipe brings back memories of me helping my grandma make this delicious lemon pie when I was a little girl. This is the only lemon pie we ever knew because at that time we had never tasted or heard of the ice box lemon pie (don't even know if that recipe had been created yet). So many people have never even heard of this kind of lemon pie. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Excellent camera work, too. Blessings.

Hi Charley! This looks fabulous. This is my husband's favorite desert and I've tried many different recipes to satisfy him but am still looking to improve, and your's seems convincing.
I have a question. I watched your pie crust recipe on the other video but you do it slightly different. You used cold butter in that recipe but for this one you used room temp butter. Is there a reason? For this lemon merengue pie, should I use room temp butter as you do in this video?
Hey there! You can follow the pie crust recipe with the cold ingredients. I used to do the room temperature crust because it was easier to combine all of the ingredients together.

I was thinking this was going to be my next project, then I saw your peach cobbler. I just got some Michigan Red Haven peaches. Mom used to Love making pies for the holidays, anything she could get her hands on. Lemon Meringue was Always part of our holiday desserts. I`ll be making a few of these this holiday season !
