BEFORE YOU LEAVE A COMMENT: Here’s a handy list of fun facts that we are aware of but didn’t specifically mention in the video:
1. The character in 100 Million BC that Mike refers to as "William H Macy" is played by Christopher Atkins, most well known for his role in Blue Lagoon but he also played a main character in previous Best of the Worst movie Beaks: The Movie.
2. The helicopter pilot in Stone Cold is played by Gregory Scott Cummins, the same actor from previous Best of the Worst movies Hack-O-Lantern and Action USA. He also plays Mac’s dad on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
3. The role of Ice in Stone Cold is played by William Forsythe, who we just recently mentioned as being in Raising Arizona in our Darkman re:View. Yep, we know that’s him!

I think they mentioned somewhere that usually for special guests they'll pick a slightly more interesting selection of films, but Patton Oswalt specifically requested they don't do that. Really, he got what he asked for. Less of a story of bad luck and more like Patton digging his own grave.

Jim Rash has talked about writing a screenplay based on his life, but he wasn't allowed to play the main character.
The higher ups kept auditioning attractive men for the role, and Jim asked them about it (since he is not conventionally attractive and the role is based on him).
He was told that these men were "TV ugly."
To be frank, Mike looks more like a sleazy used car dealer rather than a 'nerdy every day guy'. And Rich's beauty cannot be appreciated in his limited human form fully.
Jay on the other hand looks fine.

@@daxmiller35 Non-comedic actors are some of the funniest people. I think because they're not prone to tryharding. When you're a comedian or in comedy, you have to constantly try to be funny. So the non-comedy actors/performers can reserve their humor.

Well, Breaking Bad is just harkening back to said oldschool biker meth, I'm sure that some daring dudes must have captured a larger quantity of phenylacetone over the years to cook with.
I feel like Stone Cold’s ending is almost like a faithful adaptation to the book that inspired Die Hard. In the novel, John does not save his family, he doesn’t come out to a cheery crowd and endearing characters, quite the opposite. He’s left irreversibly bitter by his experiences/failures, and ends up mercilessly gunning down the last terrorist before finally leaving the building. Upon his exit, he’s mortally wounded and left to wallow in his own sorrow.
Stone Cold is ‘most likely’ a dumb dick flick. But I wanna believe it’s a clever parody of late 80s/early 90s action movies, where the protagonist isn’t a flawless sharpshooter commando, but rather a careless hunk who ends up killing more than he saves, and in the end, has to deal with the mess he ultimately escalated
Also! Two things:
1) The ending part where a running side character ends up saving the protagonist is beat for beat Die Hard, book and movie
2) They say Stone Cold is a “sequel to a movie that doesn’t exist”, well the book that led to Die Hard was in fact the sequel to a novel/movie called “The Detective”

Stone Cold might be a silly action movie, but it's not a bad movie. If you see it as a retelling of cliche themes in action movies, it's kind of great actually. Probably not their intention though..

Jack Quaid was such a great guest, I would adore to see him return again. He fit the dynamic so well and added something of his own. He felt just like he was meant to naturally be a part of this.
What I love about guest Jack is that he’s clearly there just because he loves it. He’s not peddling a new season/show or anything else. He just genuinely wanted to watch terrible movies with a bunch of hack frauds.

I'd had to stop watching half way through, find Stone Cold, watch it then return. My God its the closest thing to a Duke Nukem or McBain movie I've ever seen.
It seems pretty stupid, but also like it's hell of an entertaining spectacle. It's always fun seeing blood squibs, big muzzleflashes, and Lance Henriksen on screen, action movies these days don't have visceral and weighty visuals like that.

A couple scenes for STONE COLD were shot in my home town, and a call for locals was issued as extras. My parents, sister and I answered and each got paid $35. For use of my parents’ van in the shot, my parents got an additional $50.
The van was worth more than the humans.

William Forsythe confirmed that there was no script, and the entire movie was improvised. Much respect to Lance Henriksen for that line.
More reson why Stone Cold is like the opposite of and 80s action film. Usually it's the protagonist who gets the cool one liner.
I have waited so long for them to do stone cold. This was one of my dad's poor parenting choices in letting me watch that movie 10's of times as a child

I started rewatching this episode, and remembered this comment when Mike made the joke, so I scrolled down to pay my respects.
I can’t believe a relatively famous actor, who has worked with Christopher Nolan, was almost subjected to After Last Season.
This Episode is close to my heart because it's where I learned there was a Scream 5 and was spoiled on who the killer is within a single sentence. It's also where I discovered Stone Cold, which is one of my favorite movies.
I watched the filming of the big finale of Stone Cold at the Arkansas State Capital. Not only did the filmmakers not properly warn people that there would be a huge fireball on the capital dome, causing panic in people driving through Little Rock for miles around, but they left a huge scorch mark on the dome that they refused to clean off. The state had to sue the filmmakers to force them to clean the dome.
I remember hearing about this, crazy that it's this movie! I also heard the motorcycle left awful skid marks everywhere that took ages to clean up.
They panic in LR if the temp drops below 65, or if they have to make a left-hand turn. Them being scared of a fireball should just be a Wednesday afternoon there.

For some reason Jack’s inflection on “An Ernie Hudson vehicle never lets you down” always cracks me up. He really meant it.
It took me a while to realize this in watching random BOTW episodes since they never bring attention to it... But the actress who plays Nancy in Stone Cold (Arabella Holzbog) is the same actress who played the love interest in Hologram Man, as well as the female special ops team member in Carnosaur 2, which basically makes her a BOTW regular

Yo bro I feel ya. I went through years of depression where anti depressants did very little because I actually had undiagnosed bipolar II. On better meds now and doing good but RLM and Chapo Trap House got me through those rough years
