Glad to see drum n bass still perfectly here. I hoped when I was a kid it wouldn't end up like house or techno, obscure. And hoped our music, d&b and jungle, etc our sagelike music would last forever, because that breakbeat is just great mind expansion
Agreed pal but with the still huge and current success of house and techno I’d hardly call those genres ‘obscure’. They’ve absolutely thriving.
@@joshuamcnally4234 being from Chicago, they were born here and I grew up inside of all of it - and now Chicago isn't much like Chicago anymore. Your hard pressed to find a local. House and techno were from the gay bathhouses here then became a new thing on the streets us kids could make ourselves - we would buy records and turntables make tapes - there were parties everywhere and people were more easygoing - technology killed analog and produced a culture of cold sameness now. It's so underground here now like when it first began. We even had our own underground designer clothing stores for the music - places to buy and trade records and tapes. It's all gone but a few places that cater to overseas vinyl and cds, and old vinyl, but for a hobby and for collectors. The party here stopped .... I heard in other parts of the world its pretty big and that's awesome, like Baltimore. I just hope for a bit of analog to stay around to mix tracks at a spiritual level in the future.. and I don't count the internet, it's never been appealing to me.
