I own a Crown and in my testing although the retractable shroud is very effective, my testing has shown that doing so causes the loss of a considerable amount of the guns repeatable accuracy. I would suggest that anyone considering using the shroud in it's extended position first do a comparative accuracy test. Shoot a 5 shot group with the shroud retracted and then extend the shroud and shoot another 5 shot group. I think the results, if in fact they mirror my own and those of the other owners who have tried this will enlighten. Cheers and TY for the video Joe P.

My Trevox can be shot in a hall closet, and w/pointed pellets (dieseled) she is about 800 FPS and silent. Goes clean thru rats and squirlles. (sp. ).I now have a stock available for the Trevox. These top 5 vids are great. Thanks !
My Diana Chaser is quiet enough that all I hear is the hammer hitting the valve. My granddaughter thinks it is out of gas till the pellet smacks the target.
I have 2 marauders in 22 cal and 25 cal. I just bought a senica aspen in 22 cal and can tell you it is quieter than the marauder. Might want to check it out next. And it’s as powerful as the marauder. 930 FPS with 14. 58 grain jsb domes. Factory setting. And it’s accurate.

A Diana Chaser, using the short barrel with the factory moderator switched to it, is surprisingly quiet. I don't have a decibel meter, but it caused 2 laughs the first time tested. And a 15 y pattern less than a dime. And a tuned Benjamin Prowler .22, with a 720 fps velocity is really quiet too.

Maybe in the future if the rifles which are priced from 0-$500 are called budget, about $500- about $1000 are classified as Enthusiast rifles, and the above $1000 - infinite are referred to as Professional grade / quality, Top Tier, or Expert. This would help us consumers easily identify our market segment and also provide Airgun Depot with more Top 5 video material. Your Thoughts?

But, soon, we might see some AI that can actually figure out the context of communication. I'm starting to see some of it on my android phone, while texting. The FX Crown actually 'looks' like an airgun. If I ever win the lottery, I'm going order one! If some idiot calls the police on your backyard plinking, the police (or SWAT troops) aren't going to see a "Firearm" look-alike. The FX is going to look like a Paintball gun, or even an airgun! (Plus that large tank means loads of extra shots)! However, if you have a safe pellet trap, you can safely shoot an airgun that looks exactly like a firearm down in your basement, even in the suburbs. Just don't let unfriendly people see it. Here in MA, airgun shooters need to be careful about the 'optics' of their gear.
after picking it up after years i find my 1377 indeed to be very quiet. the pellet catcher is usually louder. And it seems to shoot for plinking purposes from 1 pumps already.
Kind of blew this top 5, seeing how #2 is under 64.3db and your #1 is 80db. Would have been nice if you had shown just how much quieter the Crown is dialed down because if it's 80db it's not #1.
I run an FX Crown Mark ĺĺ, .22 (UK FAC) with a 700mm barrel. The Crown has a 1/2 inch UNF thread for your moderator/suppressor of choice. I use an A&M Marksman moderator/suppressor. A&M are a small British company who make the most amazing mods. The Marksman is 9 inches long and made from high quality metal. When I fire my Crown all I hear is the action of the gun and the ping at the other end when the pellet hits the target. These mods. are a fraction of the cost of other big named mods., but can give them a run for their money.
This is more marketing material then a true comparison. You can't have a real comparison without mentioning the caliber of each air gun, the weight of the pellet, and the FPS for each. Fake news....
So, what is actually the quietest 0.177 cal air rifle? Of all the ones out there. Without consideration of its power or purpose. And without screw in sound suppressors requiring a license.

One of the quietest for its output has to be the FX Wildcat MKII 30 cal with the included Donnyfl moderator.
