You know, I'm something of a scientist myself
He was probably with Osborn from the founding of the company. Kinda is a shame GG killed him, they could have been like the Green Goblin and his home-base side-kick fixing shit for him and making his goblin potions etc.

The fact that Norman shatters the bottle always cracks me up. Imagine if nothing went wrong with the test and they had to spend an awkward five minutes looking for a broom and dustpan before heading home for the night 😂
They'd be most jolly about it, probably sharing a drink after cleaning and going home.
“Damnit stromm, I told you to leave the brooms and dustpans nearby”
Yes, and that bottle is the reason he had a seizure and flatlined, not just the vapor. What he drank was Prochlorperazine, an anti-psychotic which also treats vomiting. It’s usually given in very small doses but the amount he took was more than enough to give him a massive overdose, and symptoms of that include convulsions, seizures, and even death. I’m just surprised it took that long for the seizures to start, although the shock of the goblin serum probably didn’t help. However, the goblin serum is probably what revived him in combination with Dr. Stromm’s quick CPR.
@@skraegorn7317 oh fuck
So it indeed worked
But potentially that bottle is the only reason that he lost his mind due to drug interactions...

I have a theory that the serum never was making subjects insane nor a failure, and actually was a perfect recreation of the super soldier serum as intended. But like the super soldier serum it had a fatal flaw, it enhances the traits of the user. Meaning if you were slightly temperamental, greedy, violent, etc, you would now be x1000 more so. This was the reason Steve Rogers was even selected out of all the candidates, bcs the personality of the user is the main thing that needs to be taken into account when selecting a test subject. This would explain why Harry didn't go batshit crazy when he took the serum, bcs although it enhanced his vengeful thoughts, he was mostly normal before. Norman was already on edge so the serum just made it way worse in a way similar to the effects of the black suit on peter. So when the scientist who said they had to go back to formula due to the serum making test subjects hyper aggressive and manic, his conclusion was wrong as to why the subjecs became the way they did, the serum effects more than just the physical, it effects the mind just as much.
That's a nice theory. Except, based on everything we know from old Spider Man movies and MCU, Goblin serum works differently and is massively outclasses Super Soldier serum.
In the first movie during visit of the General, they said all the rodent trials were successful except one. Theoretically that would explain why Harry neither go completely insane nor his heart stopped like Normans. Goblin serum is great when it works, but there is a chance that it will go very, very badly. Norman just got unlucky roll, nearly died and received all of the side effects - it seems that he really should've gone back to formula
Also, it's clearly provide much higher level of strength. Based on just what Goblin shown to be able to do and the ability to match Spider-Man in strength. Which is fair - he is a Spider Man villain and Spider Man villains generally on a "casual car throwing" level.
@@magmatrack3915 nice theory too, I only compared it to the super soldier serum because that was what the serum was supposed to imitate in the comics, so it being superior is very much seen in the movies however it was based on the super soldier serum so it still is plausible that they had the same problem as the original super soldier serum, although improved and drastically superior, and they even managed to reduce the odds of insanity to bare minimum, they didn't fully solve that part. So I agree with you that it's vastly superior, and the only reason i brought up the super soldier serum was that it's supposed to be a recreation, but with the decades that have past the better technology allowed them to create a far stronger serum as you said "casual car throwing" level serum of strength and other gifts however like the formula it was based on the manic hyperaggression it can cause was still present, but they definitely reduced the odds, like the super soldier serum was basically everyonr had a chance to go manic its up to their personality in contrast to oscorps version that 9/10 times will not make you insane.
@@AdamIqball It was based on Super Soldier serum in Ultimate Spider-Man and, as far as I'm aware, it is the only version where that's the case. In Ultimate series a lot of things are connected to Captain America's Super Soldier serum in some way or another. Ultimate mostly connected to TASM films, and i doubt that MCU version is based on that one. Like in Ultimate Goblin is actually turns into a scaly monster, Red Skull is son of Steve Rogers etc.
Also I'm pretty sure that Super Soldier serum negative traits enchantment is MCU exclusive thing
Super Soldier serum does not turn you insane. It amplifies personality traits: if you violent - you become more violent, if you compassionate - you become more compassionate. Super Soldiers don't walk around with their original personality and then occasionally switch their personality into it amplified version.
In contrast - Goblin serum has a chance of making you insane. Like Norman Ozborn's personality did not really change, but he got a split personality disorder and insanely violent and aggressive urges manifests as a separate personality - Green Goblin.
___
Its a fun thought experiment, but I personally don't think that they the same thing or one based on another. To much difference in the way they work and side effects
The super soldier serum makes good to great and bad to worse.
I always assumed Harry improved the formula
His last words before losing his sanity, "Oh it's cold."
His first words after regaining his sanity, "Peter.. what have I done?"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like Magneto at the end of X-Men 3 when he made Jean go ape shit lol
If you ask me, he already lost his sanity when he was struggling to make the deadline.
After Norman returned to his timeline he went to Oscorp and destroyed all the enhancers that turned him into the Green Goblin before departing to places unknown
Actually, regains sanity right after this, when he wakes up on the floor in his mansion. His sanity comes and goes, along with his Goblin persona
I think it's cool how Spiderman and the Green Goblin are born on the same night. As Norman takes the performance enhancer and goes insane, Peter's DNA is being rewritten with spider genes. Birth of a hero and a villain.
Same with joker and Batman

*throat grip* "....back to formula."
It's humourous when you realize the "40,000 years of human evolution" line was originally supposed to be his last sentence as Norman, before becoming the Green Goblin, only for the "it's cold" line to be put in for being authentic, ironically making his last line anticlimactic lol.
It fits though because Norman is dying in this moment.
