We have such a fantastic interview and studio tour lined up for you today! I went to Canton House Studios to meet with 15X Grammy Award Winner, Jaycen Joshua.
Joshua began his career as a mix artist in 2006 when he co-founded The Penua Project with his mentor Dave Pensado. Joshua has received numerous Grammy Awards and mixed multiple Grammy Award-winning songs, including Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and Jamie Foxx’s “Blame It,” in addition to over 60 #1 singles and albums.
He has worked with some of the most successful hits including Justin Bieber and Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito.” Joshua has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, Seal, Nas, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, R. Kelly, Celine Dion, J-Lo, T.I., and Usher.
At Canton House Studio, Jaycen talks all about the mix engineer experience like where he began in the industry, where he finds artists, and the advice he would give to new mixers.
One of the biggest pieces of advice he gives in this interview is for artists to collaborate with others and to expand your perspective as much as you can.
Jaycen has also developed a plugin called God Particle with the Plugin Company Cradle. Keep updated with us for an upcoming video about this new plugin and how it can improve your mixes!

Who are some of your favourite or most inspiring mixing engineers/producers? Share below please!
I’m fairly pished on West London’s most expensive (but not best) Guinness- but I think it’s safe to say I love you all. Pace. ✊🏻I’m I’m only about fifteen minutes in (and I’ll confess I don’t know this Jaycen Joshua from Adam) but I’m feeling the love in the room.
JJ! So excited for this one. Thanks Warren
There are many greats, but have you talked to Elliot Scheiner? I think the new gen should get a chance to meet some of the legends that are still around
Tom Elmhirst and Fabian Lenssen are to mixers I look up to.
Jaycen joshua for now
Him and Manny Marroquin are the two guys who always used to pop up when I checked the credits. Almost 80% of the time when I looked for the credits on a song I loved the mix on, it was manny and then later it starter becoming Jaycen. Great choice in getting him on!
Thanks ever so much for sharing!
Still is to this day!
Have had to pleasure to work for both at Larrabee studios. Both, amazing guys.
My mixes have never sounded better since I started using the God Particle. I'm on a Jaycen Joshua kick rn. The Mentors we all need.
This guy is a wizard this studio cost at least 200k but the sound he gets with this setup is priceless
It's always fascinating to see experts and professionals here. The anecdotes and words of wisdom are unique. Cheers
It's our pleasure! Thanks for watching
@@Producelikeapro Thank you so much!
@@RC32Smiths01 you're very welcome!
Loving the feeling of these studio tours, they got that old MTV Cribs feel, but also cause the rooms are so well treated and the audios so clean you feel like you're right there with them.
It's not hard to see why Warren is a great Producer, he's really good at listening to People let alone Music.
Jaycen is a personal favorite and i hope you bring him back again. Thanks Warren!
Wow!! Thanks ever so much for the wonderful comment
Thank you ever so much for this experience! Jaycen Joshua is my favorite mixing engineer and I love hearing him explain his process and philosophies.
It's great to hear these great stories. Jaycen seems a great guy,and of course,he is a really great engineer.
Thanks for your job Warren, and share your time with your audience.
Thank you so much for this interview 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cool to see you 2 together...Ive learned so much from both of you(him from his many appearances on Pensado's Place). Jaycen's vibe & example makes mixing fun again & his achievements remind me that mixing 100% in the box can really compete w/ expensive hybrid stuff we cant afford. This really is an art form & so much of my fav music wouldnt be if they werent mixed the style they were. You both have cool parallel techniques I learned that I swear by now(focusing on the lows, the mids, & the highs using different parallel tracks).
Amazing interview thanks guys!! Super inspiring as always - loving the “pay it forward” and community prioritizing and sharing of ideas and enthusiasm and coping strategies / handling notes and so on. Brilliant!! ❤
This is so inspiring! JAycen is simply the best! Thank you for doing this show🙏🏻💎🙏🏻
Great interview. Thank you both. Awesome studio. 👍🙏
The 90s was such a great era for all music - Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Pop...all great!
Thanks ever so much!
Always amazing to meet people as amazing as this!
Thanks ever so much Conor!
Thank you Warren for this amazing interview!
Awesome interview Kings nice to kno the God Particle is basically your studio in a box 🤫💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow, what a fantastic studio. Thanks Warren and thanks Jaycen!
Thanks ever so much David
Oh my goodness, I just stumbled on this, I had no idea you had spent time with Jaycen. One of my favourite engineers; such an inspiration and a great teacher. A superb video, Warren, thank you.
Again a great interview 👍 thanks for the insights
Damn what a great interview!! Jason's knowledge and ability to share his stories and exchange knowledge is amazing!!

Thanks ever so much
I enjoyed watching this. Thank you both
Excellent interview. Enjoyed listening and learning from
Jaycen. Brilliant! Thank you Warren
Hi Richard! Glad you enjoyed it!
I feel like it’s Christmas already 🔥🔥
Amazing interview!! 🔥🔥 we all definitely love us some Jaycen !! .. I hope that he keeps spreading out his knowledge.. I would love if he one day makes a mixing course… I’ll definitely be the first one in line.
Super talented and super wise in terms of psychology and working with clients. The thing about just getting one compliment at the start of feedback meaning you can then take whatever amount of notes is sooooo so true. But above all Jaycen's generosity in terms of sharing techniques and ideas is really inspiring. Ultimately it's about taste - share the knowledge far and wide.
Thanks so much for sharing the stories & knowledge! Great interview🙂
great interview, great to be introduced to all these people I know little to nothing about. great stuff
youre bloody hectic jaycen mate! appreciate you for the knowledge shared and i shall pay it forward like you have done for me dropping gems and being mad specific about techniques in mixing HIII power
Great life lesson stuff passed on here as well. Thanks

Thanks ever so much
Great interview. I’m sending it to my young songwriter/producer son who’s finding his way in LA. Lots of great general advice. Thanks for another great interview Warren! ❤️
Thanks ever so much
Thanks for this PLAP! love JJ.
Thanks Aric
I really felt that part about giving everything to the mix and when the notes come back looking for that first compliment. And then learning to not take it personally anymore and getting over it. So it affects us all lol
Great interview , jj is obviously hugely successful but you seemed to bring out a real calm humble side to him with this interview. Really enjoyable and informative . Thanks warren, thanks Jaycen . Malamente is still my fav mix in years bro 🎉 Have a good day gents

this is incredible 👺🤘🏼🔥🔥
Such a respectful fella!!! Great interview.
Thanks ever so much
Fantastic. Inspiring interview.
..amazing interview..respect!!!
I love your videos so much! I'm learning so much from you vids than what I did in college. Really quick, I was majoring in music engineering but switched into majoring in music education. I went towards music education because it was a lot easier for my degree.. I kind of kick myself in the butt because I've always wanted to be a producer. In the last 2 years I've been stuck in the cycle of learning how and what I should be doing to make my studio better. Got any advice? Btw, tons of recording under my name. My dad was also a musician and has lots of music under his name/old equipment. Anyways I appreciate your videos and I've learned so much from you it's making me want to go back to engineering!
great!! Thank u!!
Thanks ever so much
AWESOME!!!
Thanks ever so much!
One word: Thank you!

Awesome.. Thank you 🙂
Thanks ever so much
Great interview and studio
Thanks ever so much!
Great interview
Thanks ever so much!
It´s really funny to see that Jaycen have just only the Grammys of Rosalía and CTangana, because both were couple years ago and in Spain we have the meme that in every album that they made separately they leave some beefs to each other, and Jaycen is like Switzerland hahahhaha
Jaycen is the new blueprint. All around
Yes! Marvellous
