I’m definitely 100% kindle/ebooks! I never thought I would be but I was an early adopter (have had a kindle since the first one released!) and it’s just SO much more convenient. All my books are with me at all times (kindle phone app makes it so I don’t even have to carry my kindle at all times) it’s easier on the hand to hold, night reading, kindle unlimited and ebook pricing saves SO MUCH money over physical books, and the space saved in my house is priceless! Over a decade into ebook reading and I don’t miss physical books at all.
I went from an OLD kindle to a kobo clara 2E at the start of this year and I have not picked up my kindle since! Such a big fan of the Libby compatibility in Canada!
on the kindles you can just tap the screen and the pages will change, you don’t have to swipe :)

I just have to tell you thank you SO much for introducing me to Libby! I’m a newer reader and was buying them all, Libby changed the freaking game! Saving money and saving the environment. I actually just read on my ipad or iPhone and just have the warm light on!
Omg love that for you! Honestly if you can handle reading off your iPad and/or iPhone its a great option- I just find it abit uncomfy to hold!!
So much good info in this! Isn't it funny that it's named Kindle Unlimited when it's SO limited? 😝 Agree that if you like romance or suspense/thrillers, it's worth it. Since I've started focusing on reading the books on my TBR, it's become less useful for me, but every once in a while a series that's recommended on booktube will be available there. I'd much rather get books either through KU or the library since, like you, I'm not a re-reader, so there's really no reason for me to own a book. (I used to loooooove the look of a bookshelf to the point that I didn't think I could ever be without one, but then I realized - during an ultra minimalist phase - that I bought books and displayed them as if they were an extension of myself, like I had to announce to the world that I READ AND LIKED THESE BOOKS.)
I am generally a late adopter, and I stayed hardcore physical-books only until around 2019 when I decided to make reading in bed a habit and didn't want to disturb my husband with a light. And now I'm 100% ebooks. It's way more convenient for people who mood read (like, read multiple books at once). I personally don't do that since I'd put off the more serious/heavy reads forever if I had the chance. I prefer it because I don't carry a purse (where one book could be semi-easily stashed) and having the book I'm reading on my phone means I read much more frequently. Longer than expected wait time at the pharmacy? Open the Kindle app.
This is such a coincidence because I just got my first ever kindle and I'm super happy about it. And now, extra excited for this video 😂🤭

I am 100% a Kindle reader since I got an eReader 10 years ago. I really can't justify spending more on a book when I can get the ebook version for so much cheaper. And it saves so much space.

I just got a kindle back in March and I love it. It is my first kindle ever and I'm in love with it! I tried reading a physical book and I just get distracted too easily. So far I've read 3 books on the kindle and now I'm working on reading my 4th book.
Thank you for making this video ❤! I currently have the paper white , I’m pretty sure I have an older version ( it’s been ages since I read and while cleaning yesterday I realized I had one 😂). I really appreciate the toned down screen on the paper white since I get chronic migraines and I just have light sensitivity. I am thinking about getting a kindle basic in order to listen to audio books ( and also be able to use my library apps ) it’s been odd for my having to let go of my books due to some specific medical struggles, but having access to audio and books really makes me feel like I’m still able to be a reader. Thanks for the video! I’m excited to potentially order myself a kindle as well !
Yes the warm light is a game changer especially with chronic migraines/light sensitivity which is why I wanted to make the upgrade! Also something I forgot to mention is Amazon has a trade-back program for Kindle so you can actually send in your old Kindle and put the $ towards your new kindle!

@@CarterSullivanI’m in Australia and I’ve managed to set my Kindle to US and so long you’ve got a friend in the US you can use their address and get a library card from their address; you can then borrow library books on your Kindle 😉
Recently, I've replaced my Kindle PPW 3 with a Boox Nova Air at price 399$ . I'm very pleased with it in term of price / performance. Its screen size 7.8 inch is very enough for me and moreover it supports wacom pen for notes & drawing ect...

I’m patiently waiting for a good sale or PC points offer to get the Kobo Libra H2O. I have the 2017 Kindle Paperwhite and it is still in great condition! I love the design BUT I want buttons. I like to read in pools but then my fingers get wet and I struggle to turn the pages 😂
Only thing I like about physical books is the beautiful covers that you can collect but other than that ebooks is so much easier.

I’ve been waiting to upgrade to the Oasis I’ve got the 2021 PW 16gb but really want the page turn buttons but I’m not buying it when it’s obsolete (2019) model and still at that price. Shy of the ergonomic and the buttons the PW is exactly the same.
If you like cozy mysteries, KU is also absolutely worth it for that.
Yes, cosy mysteries for sure. I don't find that they have the best selection of good thrillers besides Freida McFadden!

Also I don’t know if you know this but with the oasis you can connect headphones and listen to audiobooks
Yes such an awesome feature! I personally would rather listen to audiobooks on my phone but love that it's an option for others!
I had a kindle paperwhite but I dropped it accidentally 3 years ago and I've been debating buying a new one because I've started reading in bed. Most nights I feel too lazy to get up to switch off the lights so i think the kindle may really help!
Yes Kindle is great for nighttime reading🌙
Definitely if your happy with dark mode just go for the 2022 basic, if you prefer the warm light grab the PW, gooseneck holder and the button; game changer especially when nighttime reading in bed

i've been seeing different things on this but I read a lot on my phone using hoopla which is why i've been looking into a kindle and i still want to use hoopla but ive seen that hoopla isn't compatible on any of their ereaders. is this true?
I'm not too sure sorry, I've never heard of hoopla! Check reddit- I'm sure someone has asked there before!
Yes Hoopla can only be used in tablets like Samsung, iPad and Kindle Fire. However if your going tablet route I’d go the first 2 over the Kindle Fire

There’s a workaround it, but you need to have a US address and your Kindle must be registered to USA.

i'm like 98% e reader bc i read in the dark lol. i'm debating getting a kobo libra 2 just for the buttons the oasis seems a little too outdated for the current price tag.
I’m in the same predicament. I currently have the 2021 Paperwhite but really want the buttons; if Amazon doesn’t update their Oasis at the end of this year I’ll be going Kobo
You won't regret it . I have the kobo Libra 2 and enjoy it.

I’m so sad there’s like no videos like this for the kindle scribe I plan on buying my first kindle I’m thinking about the scribe for annotating but seeing everyone post about the paper white is making me question myself
I personally annotate physical books so I didn't consider the scribe! But as I mentioned I only reviewed the Kindles I physically had. I'm sure there is tons of great Scribe reviews but I feel like alot of the book world annotates physical books compared to e-books so that may be why no one has really talked about it yet! But I think whichever chose you make is the right one for you!
If you want it for annotating I’d check out Kobo Sage or Ellipsa they have on page annotation; whereas the Scribe doesn’t.

Hi, it’s great video however the smaller one is not a kindle basic but a kindle paperwhite 4. Never saw a kindle basic with a flushed screen and wide corners.
Its the 2019 Kindle basic! At least thats what Amazon sold me lol
@@CarterSullivan the 2019 basic has smaller bezels. The one on the video is the 2018 version paperwhite. That's all :))). Maybe they sent you the wrong item or its wrongly labeled when you purchased it.

Tbh it doesn’t look like you have the kindle basic. It looks like you have the kindle paperwhite but just an older generation.
Yes correct I addressed this in the comments. I purchased a Kindle basic and someone pointed out that they must have given me a Paperwhite instead. I only realized about a month ago when someone pointed it out in the comments since I bought the older Kindle used on Amazon!
I have gotten SO MANY steals from Kindle Daily Deals! I am more into trendy/popular fiction and I have found some great ones on there for about $2-3!
