I don't think I'll ever understand why Warner didn't just stick with the original script and simply recast the role of Mera. The actress, Emilia Clarke, that Jason Momoa starred with in Game of Thrones could have slated that role, they had fantastic chemistry, and it would have made a boatload of box office bank just from the millions of viewers who loved those two together and were crushed when Momoa's character was killed off. Just shows how unsound the decision-making is with the brass at Warner Bros. Of course that's just my personal opinion, but it would have smart. Also, when Depp was removed from the world of Harry Potter the whole franchise has failed and it had a long standing future for them. Just seems like foolish management.

Scripts change as people ad lib and things can get too dangerous for certain things the script calls for etc. scenes also get cut for a variety of reasons and for some of them it’s their only scene. Dolph needs to count himself lucky he and Amber were still in the movie given the controversy.

That he came out and says: "Some scenes with him and Amber were cut out of the final product". Like yeees, and? There's a limit to a movies run time. What are the scenes that first get the cut? Padding scenes with secondary and the tertiary characters attached to them, Mera and the dad. Sure, he might be irked that he lost screen time but nowhere does he bring forward that the scenes were necessary in the context of the main characters adventures.
Aquaman's out exploring the world with his bro, she's at home with her dad. That's two different stories.

I met Dolph Lundgren once. He was insufferable, self-centered and rude. I've rarely met someone who made such a strong bad impression on me. It's not remotely surprising to me that he's making this all about himself and trying to gaslight us about his concern being "for the viewers".

It’s had a couple of viewings, none of them with positive feedback, the latest one was a few months before release & reviewers walked out .
They literally pissed off everyone from every side. If they went and reduced her role, why not just recast the role and not be boycotted by at least 5 million people? If they wanted to keep her in then what's even the point of reducing the screen time since it's not gonna help them with the people who boycotted it?
also take into account that 5 million only signed but if someone doesn't go, their friends and family won't go either so it's actually a lot more. I signed the boycott but if I was to go, there would at least be 4,5 people buying tickets who didn't and same for everyone else since cinema is usually a group activity.
