      As a student of journalism I wish someone would just once ask Trudeau if journalistic organizations accepting money from political parties and or any entity a conflict of interest. Since that is how it is clearly defined by the journalism profession and journalism ethics professors Canada wide. I wonder what that answer would look like.

      That discussion can’t happen without a common ground. When somebody runs around saying “2+2 = 5”, and then accuses anybody who corrects them of being divisive… they are acting in bad faith by purposefully undermining any common ground, which could facilitate the kind of discussion you’re talking about.
      Think: Why would a conservative politician - whose sole job is to “conserve” the current power dynamic within our country - want to prevent you from finding a common ground with people who want to change that power dynamic?

      The Conservative Party is not trying to conserve the way things are now. Are you kidding? The Liberal's have become a monstrous regime and the Party does not care about Canadians. They have lied and indulged in their power to the point where Canada is becoming a poor and frightened country. Conservatives are going to return this Country to its former solid state and I can't wait.

    • @gramma677
      @gramma677 Před 4 měsíci

      Every political viewpoint thinks they know the math and they are correct. It's easy to see the opposition as acting in bad faith, because you are altruistic and intelligent, and any opposition must be the opposite. The importance of a humble reporting of multiple takes on any subject from different sides is knowing that we may not be right, and people should hear as many opinions and takes as possible. The notion that one side is right about everything, now after thousands of years of human civilization, now our view is 2+2=4 and all others are wrong and acting in bad faith. And anything contrary must be subdued because the 'correct' view cannot survive any contest, even from 'bad faith' actors. @@user-qz3yw2eh4g

      It's not government controlled, it's government funded (in part). The alternative would eventually be Canadian media controlled by Warner Bros., Fox Corp and other US corporations. Postmedia, the largest newspaper company in Canada is controlled by Chatham Asset Management, a US Hedge fund company - It's not normal for foreign corporations to own all of country's media.

We do have Canadian content legislation, it's been around since 1971 in various forms - It's fair to call that a degree of government control. If the free market decided culture we wouldn't have one. Governments should also be holding reporters accountable.
    I know the work of a journalist/reporter from experience and will say that journalism in Canada is not what it once was.
    Many journalists including the ones working under the red and white logo are not well informed and politicaly well educated. They recycle stories from reuters mix it with their own opinions and info. Furthermore, a journalist is suppose to report facts and be neutral in its reporting. No personal opinion should come through. That means not taking sides when asking questions nor when writing and reporting news stories!!!
    That is not what we see these days! We see journalists clearly showing the side they are on in their news reports and articles writings. This is the problem. All must review the journalism code.
    Pierre is right the red and white logo is pro Liberal. We have seen it so clearly over the last couple of years through the reporting of journalists and even surprisingly some news anchors.
