    100% a 1916 Harley. 1915 had the paddle start 3 speed gearbox and the flat side tanks. This is a 1916 with the 3 speed kick start gearbox, round sided tanks and bolt on rear fender piece. The best give away is the engine numbers, M is for 1916 and K is for 1915

    Yes the civilian versions were grey, they were known as "The silent grey fellow".

    Honestly I would have had a reserve and never sold that bike for that cheap. I would love to see what the buyer has done to it and how he is using it. He said he wasn’t going to restore it but use it

    as it's green, the "M" might be for "military" as at the time it was about to be used for WW1

      A 100 year old military Harley that could have seen use in WW1? And you call it a piece of junk? Wow, you obviously don't know what kind of historical significance this mostly complete bike holds. It is all there other than the rotted tire and the muffler he found at the end.

    If you think this is a military bike you don't know your butt from your elbow.Mitltary and road were produced in the same color.One was gloss,one was not.Up to 1917 That was true.
