  • As part of a preventative maintenance regime, I tested my 1996 Ford F-250 460 7.5L engine for combustion leaks into the coolant. Will it pass?! See what a failure looks like!

    Your suppose to test it after your vehicle runs for a while, allowing the thermostat to open, then test for two minutes. You can rent this tester at auto zone.

    That was a very clever and simple idea to test the exhaust fumes after seeing that you didn't get a head gasket leak on your coolant

    ''' """ '' The coolant combustion tester/detector will only test the coolants fluids for a bad head gasket?
    The Coolant combustion tester/detector doesn't test if the water pump is work correctly or if the radiator and engine has rust and other chemicals in the coolant?

      Than you probably sucked some antifreeze into the tester. As long as you don't contaminate the blue chemical with antifreeze, you can renew the chemical by blowing some lightly pressurized air into the chemical, to mix it up(in case your chemical turns yellow), it will turn blue again. Good as new.

    • @Furious_George
      @Furious_George Před 4 lety +1

      JJ305 yes. Just to try and get all the air pockets out. What I ended up doing is bought a tool called an Airlift. It’s causes vacuum pressure which gets rid of all air and let’s you see if there’s a leak. Then you hook it to a bottle of fluid and it fills it up. Best tool ever...
