I really got into minecraft a few months ago and noticed that i’d much rather play minecraft than draw. My solution? Draw the buildings i wanted to create in minecraft! It helped me with both my art and my building designs in the game. Great tip!

I absolutely agree, drawing, painting, sketching what you love is a great motivator, I couldn’t be more proud of my YT banner right now. I drew a cartoon version of my products laid out in a cool pattern and absolutely love it and wanna do another, but what do you do when you’re parents don’t want you to and instead want you to draw other stuff?

I use that kind of association in music too. When I practice a piece, I try to tell imagine a story, or an image, a feeling, etc… so I use stories from video games I play sometimes :)

What I usually do, is I find an item in my room, go to a prompt generator, and then draw the item in that prompt. Like I some Vinyl Records (object in my room) as a galaxy, (prompt)
