I love a good implosion in the postseason. Watching a team do everything it can to win (foolish or not), only to fall apart when it matters fills me with beautiful schadenfreude. These NBA Playoffs had a ton of these outcomes. While there was a good bit of chaos on the surface (a seven and an eight seed in the conference finals), it's a return to order in disguise as chaos. The teams deemed to be favorites at the start of the season ascending to the top, as expected.
It just went about in different ways. This video goes over them all. Even if your team lost, at least you aren't the Mavericks.

If you told me years ago an 8th seed and the Nuggets would be in the Finals not only would I not believe you, at best I’d have assumed you were talking about the same team.
I'm a Nuggets fan and I didn't think I'd see it. I thought the refs would screw us against the Lakers, but I guess we had enough fire power to not only beat LA but the zebras too. Who knew?

As a Kings fan i’m just happy we made the Playoffs. Going to Game 1 Live is an experience i’ll never forget. Hopefully we build a contender

In general that’s an issue Toronto fans have, where we make our sports teams such a big part of who we are as people that literally anything bad that happens to our teams mentally wrecks us for months. It’s like being part of the fandom for a cartoon or something. I hate being a Torontonian man.

Okay, coming back throughout the 23-24 season, I find myself frequently returning to that one part in particular because I'm still in disbelief over what's been done. "They'll be back" is now an understatement of the grandest proportions. They are now the 1st seed in the West going into the playoffs.
I feel the same way with the Timberwolves. People said the Rudy Gobert trade was terrible but look at our playoff performance now.
The last 2-3 years have been good to Stan Kroenke. 2021 Los Angeles Rams. 2022 Colorado Avalanche. And now the 2023 Denver Nuggets.

Being a Magic fan it's difficult to see the Heat once again go to the Finals when we haven't done anything of note since 2010. But I have to give credit where it's due. To be the 8th seed and make such an impressive playoff run is something no one can scoff at. Can't say I'll be rooting for them (I'll be doing just the opposite), but I respect their drive.
