Well, as someone who does speak French I must say it was distracting when he pronounced for example the s in ''ris'', because it's simply not supposed to be there. So it's not a matter of accent but rather the fact that some of his pronunciations were clearly based on spelling rather than the language. It's like pronouncing the o in ''women'' as a regular o.
But! I love Dimash and I just wanted to express my thoughts on this. Not caring about pronunciation is perfectly valid and I wouldn't want to start an argument.

This song requires strong chest voice, strong head voice, riff n runs, staccato, seamless transition between registers, all of which vitas does not hv. Vitas is all falsetto (and only in studio, never live). So it is correct to say that no human has a voice like Dimash in this song SOS.

@@roofie1695 no I’m not lying ! I don’t know who said that he butchers french language but I truly think that that was kinda exaggerated! When Dimash came to France and sung S. O. S., people were sooooo surprised and impressed that he pronounced so well even though he does not speak a word of french!
But of course, he does not pronounce as good as a native but he pronounces good anyway ! Besides, french is very difficult to learn and speak for foreigners and Dimash is Kazakh, his language is totally different from the french one ! :)

I respect your point of view, after all you aren’t French so you can’t tell.
But, as a native, I can tell that his version is very accurate ! Of course, as I told you, Dimash does not pronounce as good as a native but yet, he still managed to say correctly most of the sounds, especially the “r” one which is kinda difficult to pronounce for foreigners.
Please don’t believe the first person who says that he butchers the language, that is not true. :(
Us, French people, are always pleasantly surprised when Dimash sings his version, especially as he sings it in our language even though he does not speak it ! :)

You can never repent of a voice like this!
It's not a performance, it's almost a religious experience... Every time I listen to this rendition I promise myself I'm going to do it just once or twice, yet end up being swept away by his unreal beautiful voice, artistry and soulful tones and just float in the sea of feelings for at least half a hour. Then life calls back, but I still want, NEED more. I need to see him live, to be able to thank him in person for all the marvel he brought to my life with his voice. Thank you so, SO MUCH, Dimash. Wish you all the best, which is the only thing you deserve.

I experience the exact same experience and you are right about the feelings lasting for about half an hour then I come back to reality. If he ever has a performance here in Toronto, I would like to go but I'm afraid that the audience would spoil it for me with their poor behaviour.

Nobody will beat Dimash for long time. Because as we can observe in the history the nature doesnt create geniouses every day. Dimash's voice is so increadibly perfect clear that make people think he is an angel! You can learn a technique, you can be skilled, you can hit low and high notes, but you'll never achieve such a brilliant timbre, just because Dimash got it from God. God chose HIM to be the one who has this gift today. Maybe in one hundred years the Earth will get another magnificent voice, but I think not today , because as I already said God doesn't create geniouses every day... The only thought that I have on my mind while Dimash's singing - if he can sing that way on Earth, how then angels sing in heaven?

@@thomasgandon1497 Perso je comprends quand même... Mais le principal pour moi c'est de remarquer les progrès qu'il a fait au niveau de l'accent en quelques mois. Le français est une langue quand même pas facile donc je pense que l'on devrait supporter de base son choix d'interpréter une chanson dans une langue qu'il ne parle pas ...
Belle reprise mais y'a des améliorations à faire sur la prononciation quand même. Après on comprend que la langue soit compliquée et tout. Mais bon pas grave
C'est vrai qu'il a beaucoup travaillé la prononciation. C'est tres loin d'être parfait mais j'apprécie l'effort. Pour moi cette chanson est toujours meilleure lorsque chantée par quelqu'un qui comprend la langue et qui ressent les paroles.
