Grace had money on her wedding dress bc its it is a gesture of good luck as well to financially support the couple and their honeymoon. Male guests line up in front of the bride to pin money on her dress before dancing with her, while female guests pin money on the groom before dancing with him. Its a practice done in many cultures, though I've only seen it at an Italian and Southern black wedding.
I truly disliked Louis' mum for blaming him for Paul's death. She knew that Paul had mental issues bc they had to put him in an asylum before. And they wanted to do it again, but Louis was the one to say no, bc the asylum made him worse. But the fact that she sat there in Louis' house being fully financially supported by him, and then treated him like shite and blamed him for something that he didn't do, made my blood boil.

This is why the TV show is better than the original movie. Yes, they changed a great deal, but through those changes we are privy to the eloquence of Rice's writing. The emotional depths that her work stirs. I read the books when I was around your age, and this version reignited the same feelings I felt when I read it so long ago. They are lovers. The TV show functions so much better than the film because it doesn't cover up the reality of the narrative. And we get to see and hear Louis and Lestat in all their multi-epoch-living, intricate, romantic horribleness only vampires can sustain.

There's lots of different Vampire lore that has built up over the literal centuries. You can't assume anything because each story & piece of media uses different lore & sometimes makes up new stuff. Im just glad you didnt - yet compare this to Twilight like Ive seen some reactors do. Anne Rice, even with these changes and Myer aren't even in the same Hemisphere lol. And @edilli is %100 right the changes they made to the series are so much better then the book

The “Vampire Chronicles” by Anne Rice are some of my favorite books. “Interview With The Vampire” is of course the first book and you really need to read it”The Vampire Lestat” to really understand the story..

I would like to recommend a very good film for you to watch, the name is "The Normal Heart". I don't know if you've seen it but this film is exciting and very interesting. It talks about the lives of queer people in the 80s in NY at the beginning of the AIDS crisis and talks a little more about this discovery and the struggle of these people to be seen by the government that at the time ignored the emergency situation
I have heard of this film, my plan is to watch it in the new year

Wishing you will react to some bl series in the future, especially this bl series called gaya sa pelikula, its a really good series with heavy themes that im sure youre gonna like and its completely free in youtube so its very easy to watch.
You laid everything out perfectly. Lestat isolated Louis and preyed on him. I believe that Lestat made Paul walk off that roof. Then he killed Lily, the two people he was closest to.
No, his brother was mentally ill.. Lestat never made anyone do anything that wasn’t already in the individual.. Don’t give up on the story..
Actually Lestat didn't make Paul walk off a roof or manipulate him in some way.
I don't think Lestat manipulated Paul. He tells Louis " Your brother longed for that tombstone" and I don't see why he'd lie about that, being the cause of Paul's death wouldn't in any way help him get Louis, it's too obvious + he knows that family is everything to Louis. Paul was very disturbed and his sister moving on with her life greatly affected him and his life.
I think you're being very much infantilizing to paul
