Honestly the body change technique is one of my favorite techniques in the dragon ball franchise.
Unlike Zamasu, Captain Ginyu didn't need Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Goku.

I NEVER realized Ginyu IS essentially immortal (biologically speaking) since whenever his current body is on the verge of death he can just switch bodies and get a younger body with a whole new lifetime to look forward too.
I never thought about that until this vid (since most folks talk about if Ginyu did body swap on a fusion).
Yin-yang seperation? He posses 2 bodies at once but 1 is his good side and the other is his evil side? Sorta like how kami and picollo are yin and yang of each other
What if when ginyu body changes a fusion character the fusion is now just ginyu so whenever they fuse it will be ginyu because they did describe the fusion as being a whole new being. And maybe when the fusion time ends the fusion character that’s in ginyu just dies and for example goten and trunks are ethier trapped in ginyu’s body or they got back to there bodies somehow.

No I don’t think so, he separates things that are fused or absorbed together. That’s why it’s called Spirit FISSION, it splits things. If he was able to split a body and it’s soul, then he still wouldn’t be able to swap the souls of Ginyu and someone else.

For Resurrection F. My head cannon is Ginyu learned from watching the Z fighters about Ki control and various other techniques. In the similar sense that Vegeta became a better fighter after his battle with the Earthlings
I think it’s understated how OP the ability is, to the point that one other person having access to a body change (Zamasu) became the foundation of an entire arc in super.
I also think it would be interesting if the answer for it turned out to be that Ginyu started as an evil Yardrat who abused spirit control to create the technique.
Hm, that is interesting and goes back to Ginyu Force's original misson after namek was to head to Namek.

No. It's already been explained that when a character fuses it's not 2 people controlling one body. They create 1 totally new being. Ex. "Gogeta" is his own person with thoughts and a soul but happens to have both of goku and vegetas memories

He targets the ones spirit then clasps his hands together then separates his hands to cause the two to defuse, the thing is he needs their blood on each of his hands

Frieza isn’t stupid enough to have someone like that around though so he’d have to have known a way to counter it or Ginyus loyalty must’ve been kept in such a way either way Cold was always gonna be the bigger problem if he caught wind of Ginyus stealing

Young Pyrate Well it’s not a plot hole, Freeza was just too powerful to have Ginyu pull it off against him. If that Ginyu were to try it against SSJ Goku or Vegeta, he’d fail. Not too mention Freeza most likely knew of all their abilities before he brought the Ginyu force in so he’d be keen on Ginyu potentially trying to use that technique.
Young Pyrate Not a plothole. Dont use words if you dont know the definition of them. Ginyu was said to be completely loyal to frieza. Frieza knew of this ability (most likely) and if he tried using it frieza could Dodge and kill him.

I really enjoyed the body change technique used in dragon Ball multiverse especially when you find out that Ginyu switched with king cold
here's my theory for the changing bodies with a fusion character question: ginyu would forever be stuck as gotenks, for example, but since ginyu's ki, consciousness, entire body is not composed of any fused beings and especially no time limit to his being, he would ultimately stay inside of gotenks body forever until he learned to control it or until he died of old age or even died in battle

I think Ginyu struggling to use Goku's body stems from how Goku gains his power, he uses strange techniques such as the Kaio ken and spirit bomb which has specific requirements to properly utilise whereas Tagoma is just brute strength without a complex technique boosting him

I've always wondered about how the body change would affect Launch. Imagine if Launch wasn't forgotten by Toriyama and she accompanied Gohan Krillin and Bulma to Namek (likely to resurect her beloved triclops). Instead of Bulma being taken over in that anime-only scene, Launch is targeted. What happens?
Does he supplant both personalities, leaving behind the 2 Launches in another body? Who has bad allergies? Does Ginyu only replace one Launch ad then is subject to the allergy switch? If Launch sneezes during does it negate the ability? or, if she sneezes during does that result in a 3rd Launch personality coming about? Would she have purple hair? What happens to the other body if the technique fails? Does it die?

As for the part about what would happen if ginyu were to switch bodies with a fusion and then the fusion defused, my guess is that Ginyu soul would be ripped in half and he would cease to exist, kind of like being destroyed by beerus or being deleted by Zeno. As for the two bodies of the fused warriors, the bodies themselves would just be dead. Meanwhile the fused warrior souls would be forever trapped together in ginyus body. That's just my head cannon.
Tagomas body was hardened from being friezas training “partner”, being torn to shreds and then rejuvenating in the chamber for the next session. So it makes sense that ginyu had exceptional defense after changing with ginyu but his offensive abilities were overkill from the body change unless he had done extreme mental and spirit training while as a frog but the ress f saga in super didn’t say that. I’d have to watch it again but as a dragonball gag it’s still fun, ya know
tagoma was far less experienced than ginyu so ginyu knew more about how to use tagoma's increased strength. Tagoma had training from one source and it was pretty basic so it would have been easy for ginyu to tap into it. Unlike goku who trained in many different ways.

The only way to make sense of Captain Ginyu being able to use Tagoma's body after mere seconds; is to say that Tagoma is of the same species that Ginyu's original body was from. So he already had a sense of knowing how to use the body.

I remember readin somewhere that when Ginyu changed bodies their voices stay the same in-universe. That may explain why Krillin and Gohan was blindsided at first
Just found out in the Smash Bros. direct that they hired the Vegeta voice actor to make slurping noises for Captain Falcon eating Ramen for Min Min's reveal trailer.
With the Body Change on a Fused Character, I think a few different things could happen:
1. The move gets deflected back to Ginyu meaning it cannot affect fused beings
2. It works, but only swaps with one of the personalities (which may lead to the undoing of the fusion if Ginyu and the other personality don’t mix well enough)
3. It completely replaces the fused being’s personality (which is stuck in Ginyu forever (unless he swaps back)) and when (or if) the fused being unfuses, each unfused half has Ginyu’s personality, but not two complete copies, rather each has one half of it with it being random which gets what parts (a side affect to this could be that, if the Ginyu halves refuse and change back into his body, who knows if the halves of the fused being will return to their original bodies when they unfuse)
4. The move could be used to destroy fusions: Take Ginyu and Gogeta for example. Ginyu swaps with them, waits for the timer to run out, when the fusion ends, he’s in Goku’s body while Vegeta’s is essentially brain dead (has no personality to control it). Since there is no one to control Vegeta’s body, re-fusion is not possible and all Ginyu has to do is swap back to his body and from there Ginyu could win.

What you should look into was frieza vs nail fight it looks like frieza was supposed to learn different techniques but they for got it he made a note in his scouter when nail regrew his arm

The question with the body change is, who was the original Captain Ginyu? Presumably he's gone through the multiple enemies this way, grabbing the stronger body with each battle.

Changing with a fusion character could result in the 2 individuals haven’t joint conscious like tien’s multiform or like you said the different versions of Buu
I think there is another thing that could potentially happen if the body change technique was used on a fused fighter; Ginyu's soul would end up stuck as said fusion and if the fusees, like Goten and Trunks (who would be unaffected), fused back, then Ginyu would return as the soul of their fusion. This, to me, makes a lot of sense since fusions are generally regarded as their own characters instead of simply a fusion of two other characters that have no identity of their own.
It would be possible if togoma was from Ginyus actual race and change is something they can use but are not aware of, that would explain why change worked and why he was able to use the body faster.
Another bit of information (albeit non cannon) is that in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in the Fu DLC storyline you can bring along mentors to help out, one of them being Ginyu, if you decide to bring him along for the Fu side part of the Goku Black arc he'll actually swap bodies with Black in his Rosé form and attempt to use it, believe it or not it actually does but he immediately gets winded and is out of the fight for the rest of the mission
7:30 if I remember correctly, there was a bonus story in Xenoverse 2, where Ginyu (as your partner) would swap bodies with Goku Black, while in Super Saiyan Rosé. What I liked about this is that they didn't do what happened in the Resurrection F arc of Super, and he almost immediately overused his ki just to, basically, flex.
Loved the video. I also feel the reason zamasu could tap into goku's power better than ginyu is because zamasu had learned about goku because of that one person. I cant remember his name the guy who knows everything. Where as ginyu knew nothing about goku or his past when he took his body.

I've always said that if he did change with a fusion that when they split he'll be there but dormant, and any time they fuse he would manifest himself....sort of like if he did the change with shenlong....when they summon its ginyu....
When people fuse their souls also fuse as well, so presumably Ginyu could switch. Since when the warriors die their soul wouldn’t separate unless it’s the dance (probably).

And in that timeline I was under the impression that 2 of the Z movies were listed Dead Zone and Coolers Revenge. Wouldnt that mean that technically those two movies are anime canon? Anime continuity only im assuming. Just curious

You mentioned about Ginyus Change move being unblock-able. I’m not sure that is the case. Sure we never see it being blocked, but I think it’s also because the opponent isn’t expecting it. Also the move happens so fast that you have little to no time to react.
Look at the fight between Ginyu and Goku. GINYU allows Goku to spar because he is smart and knows sayans love to fight. Goku could just destroy Ginyu but what fun would that be? Goku just gained all this power so naturally he wants to test it out before fighting Freeza. Ginyu charges his technique and Goku is waiting to see this new technique or attack. Only it is not an attack. By the time he realizes it’s too late. We are talking fractions of a second here to get from Ginyu to Goku (or others).

I agree the Tagoma thing was wacky. However, I guess you could try to imagine a basketball player switching bodies with a sumo wrestler, and not knowing how to use it as well. If the basketball player switched bodies with another basketball player, then it would be easier to control.
I think that's why Ginyu could use Tagomas body and not Gokus. If they both trained in the Freeza force, then I can only assume they have a similar way of fighting.
Great video though man! Ginyus body change totally represents having the mind, body, and soul all in sync or you can not maximize your potential.
I actually like that they brought back Captain Ginyu in super. I wasn't crazy about the execution, but what are ya gonna do? I think they had an idea that they didn't know how to pull off and they liked the idea enough that they were willing to stink up the joint a little to do it.
I think I would've gone the route of exploring the different options of what could happen with a fusion change. You can explore the possibilities without giving a definitive answer that doesn't exist anyway. I like the idea of Captain Ginyu's soul being split in two between the two bodies and that being another possible consequence to balance out a potentially extremely strong technique. There's a lot of different directions you could go in as a writer with a half a soul in two separate bodies.
I think that if Ginyu uses the technique on a fusion there a good chance that it won’t work but there’s another possibility the he can force the fusion to negate by locking on one person the dragging their soul out thus separating and then all he has to do is quickly swap
