You killing it with the views lately
They literally could have betrayed Frieza anytime, but they might habe had some questionable mad respect for him...i.e. Guldo, fuken Guldo could have stopped Frieza, then Ginyu could have just swapped the bodies and that'd be it...and also in the worst case, both dodn't work out,Burter and Jaice had their SPECIAL MOVE called "Seizure Procedure",which'd dostract Frieza enough for Ginyu to try again
Because freeza had a good retirement plan
Considering all the dialogue they share (Especially in semi-official content such as the video games) it always struck me that the Ginyu Force simply had too high of respect for Frieza that the thought of betraying him was never a thought at all.
All of them combined couldn’t even scratch his first form, maybe is the reason
@@blur8163 I’m mean guldo freeze plus body swap could probably do it
@@AllMight6 Would freeze captain too tho.
Yeah, the Ginyu was exceptionally loyal to Frieza. He seems to never even consider using the dragonballs for his own gain to overthrow Frieza.
I think that’s the main answer.
The second answer could be that once the enemy is strong enough, the technique will be meaningless. Kinda like the mafuba in dragonball…
I don’t consider the resurrection F garbage to be in continuity with DBZ.
Yes exactly
"There's no one in the universe who can stop us...except Master Freeza". Ginyu had immense respect for Freeza. That's why I believe he never tried his luck. There's also a strong possibility that in the back of his mind, Ginyu probably knew the power difference between them would render the technique useless.
The power differennce is not an issue, as Ginyu was closer to Frieza than the frog was to Tagoma
yeah since Freeza could dodge Ginyu's technique since he's 5x stronger and even if he managed to capture him with it. Freeza could just break out so there was no point like when Ginyu attempted it at Vegeta but Vegeta was soo fast he knocked him out of it before he could do it
@@freezasama5802 not to mention even if he didn't Cold or Cooler would catch on sooner or later and kill Ginyu
@@patg108 yup and Ginyu can't take them on
@@eplatamx2017 speed and reaction time
I think that the explanation is way simpler than that, he absolutely adores Freeza, he never considered taking the body of the one that he admires so much.
freiza tricked him into thinking he was crippled and ginyu couldn't inhabit a body he wouldn't be able to dance in
I know this is a joke but he saw him standing once
@@DarkapostlesASMR ah lord frieza your legs are healed it’s a miracle now let me preform the dance of healed legs

@@AllMight6 Exactly how that would go, lmao!
FUCK I love this theory
I imagine the thought of 'what if it didn't work or something went wrong with the attempt' was more than enough to keep Ginyu from trying.
Would have actually been really cool if he had planned to take over Freeza's body but was simply waiting until the wish had been made. From what I can recall most people working for Freeza had their planets taken over by him so it would be logical that while they fear him, some would be looking for any opportunity to usurp him.
There is also the fact that just like in JJBA, where characters are reluctant to show their stand powers as they would then be easier to defeat, characters in DBZ did the same thing with their transformations. Perhaps Ginyu kept it a secret within his group that he could swap bodies. Would have been a neat plot twist if he returned at the end of the Namek saga as a frog and took over Freeza's body haha
Ginyu: “CHA-“ Freeza: “Death beam”
I wonder what would happen if Ginyu changed bodies with a Frieza that got his wish for immortality.
Because the most likely phrasing of the wish would be "I wish to become immortal"
Would Frieza be immortal in his new body or would the wish make it so that Ginyu in Frieza's old body be the benefactor of the wish.
Lol then they have the most powerful frog in the universe hopping around
A better question would be why did frieza allow Ginyu to live having this ability despite how loyal he is since to frieza loyalty is irrelevant next to fear and paranoia
cause he knew he was loyal.. remember frieza kept the saiyan trio even tho he killed their race and he knows that if someone betrays him he will just kill them.. easy cause thats how strong frieza think he is
@@TijerasNYC frieza is extremely paranoid to those who can pose a threat to him no matter how loyal. The saiyan trio was so weak that they weren't a threat but ginyu definitely was despite how loyal he was and frieza isn't the type to gamble with loyalty
It’s possible Frieza likes Ginyu as much as Ginyu likes Frieza
@@TijerasNYC Yea but the Saiyans were no threat to him
@@nnightkingj cause Freeza knew if Ginyu attempted the technique Freeza would dodge it with ease or break out and kill him this is why he was never scared
He has to much respect for Frieza as his leader so he would never. I bet the idea never even crossed his mind
I got the sense Body Swap was a great surprise move, but if the foe knew it was coming they could shut it down pretty easily. Though as to why Ginyu didn't try anyway, I always thought its just a case of fear and respect for his boss. Ginyu is, for a villain, a weirdly honorable dude and actually a pretty smart fighter too. It'd be so wacky if Ginyu just started out as some parasite on some backwater planet until a random trooper from Kold's army happened along and got body snatched, allowing "Ginyu" to gain full intelligence and start body hopping between stronger and stronger people until finding his purple body and also a boss he genuinely came to respect enough to not want to steal his body.
If the body swap technique is a racial ability, I wonder what type of lifeform would have evolved that sort of ability. And if not, then how it could have been devised in the first place. Maybe it's a metamoran fusion gone wrong?
You know Ginyu was day dreaming about all the stupid poses he could do for the ginyu force with a tail. Can you imagine, he starts off as a parasite and then eventually get's all flamboyant like a cheerleader in the end lol.
Guarantee you if Ginyu managed to swap with Beerus, he’d determine what planets get destroyed based off their posing.
You just come up with these QUESTIONS that EVERYBODY wonders but never seem to ask. Great video!!!!
Now I want to see a one shot of Genyu taking Freeza’s body to take out an enemy and immediately switch back, and Freeza’s just like “Never do that again.”
If that happened once Freiza would for sure kill him imo. Once he's back Freiza would annihilate him. He killed all the saiyans because of the "Super Saiyan" potentiality. Yes I know Beerus ordered it but I view that as a bad retcon.
Maybe Freiza either has some protection against it, is always looking out for the move or maybe his psychic powers counter it.
I feel like freeza can basically death beam him in the heart like how he killed vegeta before ginyu could even finish saying the activation phrase
Goku has psychic powers and he couldn't counter
Because He Knew I'd Kill Him Nanoseconds Before He Could Even Think Of Formulating The Idea Of Trying.
Cringe
I always wondered if purple w/ horns body is his original body or the strongest body he was able to steal. Has ginyu been upgrading bodies like a shell crab?
It isn't his original body, there's art of him using the change ability on a person who originally had the body he has in Z, but even that might not be his original form.
@@qx0xy I believe that was a Toyotaro "what-if" concept. It's not canonical, just him entertaining the idea of it.
I'm sure it's not his original since he knows how to use it so well
@@qei431. There are reasons for and against believing he's not in his original body. Your point is the main one in favour of that. Some things go against that idea, though. For example, what if his race just had the innate ability to shapeshift and it wasn't something he had to learn? There's no evidence of that, but it's an equal possibility. Plus, he didn't realize the fatal weakness of not being able to use his opponent's full power, which would be hard to justify if he's changed bodies before.
The only compromise I can think of is that Ginyu would swap bodies with his opponent, beat himself up, then swap back to his original body and finish the job.
Probably not considering he has a move where he coats his hand in energy and stabs himself with it
You have the best what ifs scenarios out of anyone in youtube, especially with evidence and references
He didn't need to. Ginyu was basically no2 in Frieza's empire and unlike Zarbon or Dodoria who were always with Frieza taking direct orders, he was working indepedently and enjoying himself. Even if he had managed to do it, what would he do afterwards? Rule the empire in Frieza's place? It would be boring for him as he was a fighter.
Always giving answers to questions I didn't know I had lol
Great Video Mike
In that fan fiction comic, with combatants from different timelines, we have a Ginyu who possed King Cold's body, rulling over the universe and unlocking a new form for King Cold.
I Loved Watching MLAATR.
My 2 theories are
1. Ginyu is too Loyal to Freeza and would never even think about betraying him even in the anime filler when he sees him in action he's mindblown and is even more dedicated to Freeza also he always does his best to fulfil Freeza's exact wishes no matter what
2. If Ginyu attempted the 'change' technique Freeza would be 5x stronger so he would break out and kill Ginyu in an instant making it impossible for Ginyu to steal his body those are my 2 theories have a nice day and thank you for reading

I think the technique would definitely work on Frieza if it connected. but I imagine Frieza was fully aware of the technique as well, so if Ginyu tried it Frieza could likely put up a barrier, or death beam him before the switcharoo beam could hit him.
Remember guys, a frog Ginyu could change bodies with Tagoma with no issues, so power difference isn't really a factor. Unless you want to tell me that was a REALLY strong frog
Good to see those views climbing!
The key word for the Ginyu Force is "Loyalty".
Even in death knowing they no longer need to follow his orders, the first thing the other Ginyu members did was attempt to take over King Kai's planet in Frieza's name. Ginyu and his squad legitimately admire and revere Frieza despite the knowledge that his favour is entirely due to their usefulness, not because he likes them. They are his top squad due to literal undying loyalty, not strength.
Frieza HAD stronger soldiers than Ginyu's squad, and much larger platoons he could bring to Namek. However there was nobody with as much blind loyalty as the Ginyu Force, something Frieza valued above all else. Ginyu's members were hand picked to be the Cheerleader squad of the army, soldiers both very powerful and capable together, but most importantly share an unconditional admiration for Frieza, acting entirely as his personal fan fare who would literally do anything for him, and reasonably could, without ever needing to worry about one of them getting ambitious and thinking of betrayal.
Ginyu spent 15 years as a frog due to Frieza's orders and his blind loyalty, and was STILL loyal to him to the end, even after knowing Goku killed Frieza and his other squad mates once already.
No limits fallacy. I’m guessing if it’s addressed in the future, a limit or weakness of the technique would be introduced retroactively explaining why it was limited to those below Freeza during that Namek saga.
Wouldn’t that conflict with him stealing the body of that grey guy from resurrection F? From memory he was easily beating people far above namek freiza (before body change) so unless ginyu improved his technique while trapped in the body of a namekien frog somehow it wouldn’t make much sense
@@gamergamer7508 Perhaps it’s the same logic regarding why the ‘Evil Containment Wave’ or Boo’s candy beam that turns people into chocolate isn’t overpowered. From what we’ve observed, the strongest of the strong: like Vegerot in the manga, or Gogeta in the anime, don’t bother with gimmicks.
I always wondered if ginyu ever did a body swap before namek, it’s probably confirmed he didn’t but it would be cool to know if he actually did, what would he originally be as a species.
I think it was actually confirmed that the body we see on namek is not the body he was born with
I'm certain that isn't his original body, I forgot but remember reading something about what his original body was yrs ago.
It's kinda confusing. He would have known that he wouldn't have complete access to Goku's full capabilities if he did a previous switch. However in super (which probably should be ignored) he had full access to Tagoma's power. I'll go with him being in his original body
@@asiatichebrew5100 Can't ignore super lol. It exists, it happened
@@asiatichebrew5100 The reason he couldn't access Goku's full power was that Goku was using Kaio-Ken to achieve the power level that had Ginyu switch. Ginyu didn't know the technique and raising and lowering your Power Level wasn't a common thing in the Universe besides Namkeians and Earthlings. Tagoma was just naturally that strong so he could instantly access the full power.
I'm just about to watch the video but I just wanna say first : I WAS WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!👍
He was to loyal, And respected him.
I’m guessing it was simply pure loyalty
Would Body Change work on Buu? And what if it worked on buu then ginyu absorbed himself? I need answers god damn it
Wait hold on, that's a great question.
Either because he was very loyal to frieza, which was shown so I reckon it this reason.
Or because King Cold was a threat as he was at least as strong as frieza iirc. King Cold wouldn’t let something like that slide. But then again he would take king colds body too.
He would just take King Cold body
@@andrebryant5081 which I said
It makes no sense if you think about it. Ginyu claims that only Frieza is stronger than him yet he knows King Cold (he worked for him even before Frieza took over as we saw in Broly).
@@andrebryant5081 he does in multiverse spinoff and runs for quite awhile with it too
@@mogalixir yeah, the thing is Ginyu would retreat for awhile (it always takes him time to learn the body)
Which means that if Ginyu took Cold he'd still be effectively weaker than Frieza or Cooler (they stop him in multiverse, even after he has full mastery)
In that they torture ginyu to force him to change bodies back to normal.
What type of mic you are using. It sounds great.
Thanks. I'm using the Shure SM7B with the Elgato Wave LP microphone arm and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface.
He probably couldn't in my opinion Maybe if he was damaged in a battle. But Frieza probably knew about technique and how easily to avoid it.
Right as soon as Ginyu does the body change pose he would probably get a split second death beam through the chest for trying it.
Congrats on getting a sponsor
Respect goes a long way💯
I’ve never even thought about this 0:15
Ginyu wasn't only loyal, he was a fanatic that truly believed in Frieza's vision on how the universe should be ruled. To Ginyu, Frieza was more than a leader, he was closer to a prophet or perhaps even a God.
I think the answer is relatively simple: Ginyu either A: Respects Frieza too much to even think about attempting it, or B: Does not think he could actually pull it off before Frieza would simply kill him. Higher Power Level = Faster apparently, so Frieza would probably either avoid the Change Beam, or pop Ginyu's head before he could even fire it. Ginyu does fear Frieza (All of the Frieza Forces do), but their dialogues suggest that the respect vastly overrides it.
...Though now that I think about it, perhaps he kept that ability relatively secret, except to other Ginyu Force members! In the Return of F arc in Super, he had to explain this point to Frieza, didn't he? So maybe Frieza didn't know about it, and Ginyu simply wanted to not risk that being discovered.
In the fanmade Dragon Ball Multiverse webcomic, in one of the alternate universes, Captain Ginyu took over King Cold's body.
It's obvious when you think about it
Freezers body would throw off the Ginyu Force fighting poses
Bro got sponsored, congrats man
Love your breakdown videos. It’d be awesome if you could do a breakdown video on why Broly freaked out in the Broly Super movie when Goku told him he could sense Broly wasn’t a bad guy & that he didn’t have to fight, then Broly just gets angry & breaks Gokus hold. Never fully understood why Broly did that & be interesting to hear your thoughts.
That's why I love the what if timeline that dragon ball mtiverse covers. It also covers a what if where frieza got serious, but somehow never transforms on namek. That's the only part I found weird.
I think it was like 99% loyalty keeping Ginyu in line
to add onto his admiration of frieza, in the anime when ginyu steals bulma's body, he mainly just stays on the sidelines of goku vs frieza cheering for frieza. the whole reason he tries to steal piccolo's body is so he can help frieza fight goku. and before that, even after he became a frog he was trying to push the dragon balls away (to frieza) while gohan was guarding them
I never thought about this 🤔 😳
Honestly, given the whole Ginyu Force, the Captain likely didn't want to change bodies from the purple horns that compliment the entourage greatly. Style over raw power, baby.
With guildos ability to freeze people did he combo attack opponents with Ginyu to body swap.
Burter being extremely fast could capture people as well.
An entire strategy built around this ability.
I've always figured that freeza only had a small slice of the empire and word would get back to cold or cooler if he's canon or any other strong higher up. That's assuming the freeza force rats ginyu out, they may like working under "freeza" better
Ginyu just didn't want to become a manlet
pausing at the 4 minute mark to say this, Captain Ginyu was loyal. I think that is the reason he didnt try to take Frieza's body. That, and maybe fear of trying... Frieza would've known Ginyu's technique and been ready for it. with the vast difference in power Frieza might have been able to dodge the move with little to no effort. If this is the case and Ginyu knew this, he would have remained at his station.
Ha, nailed it.
Frieza being friends with Ginyu was one of his smarter decisions. Now if only he figured out how to get along with the Saiyans he would've stayed in power
I think he DID try.. He's so subservient to Frieza, I assumed he humbled him at one point when conquering his planet
That is a damn good question sir! 🤯
He had "Loyalty inside his DNA." Immortality play? Quite possible.
I feel the power difference and the fact friza would know of the technique would mean friza could hear "change" and side step or fly as fast as he could in a direction and then ginyu wouldn't hit friza and die.
Imagine if body change misses, is there a range limit? Would his soul fly into space forever?, What if it hits a blade of grass or a tree? And so on
Also I don't think Ginyu would be able to handle frizas duties of commanding the entire force.
I actually brought up this question with my friends years ago
congrats on the sponsor
Imagine if frog Ginyu body swapped Beerus or even Whis with a lucky shot.

Haven't watched yet since im at work, but I always assumed it was because Ginyu was legitimately loyal to Frieza and not just fearful. Also Frieza probably knows about the technique and he would just dodge it since he'd be ready
It’s possible Frieza’s psychic abilities made him immune
goku has psychic abilities...most characters in Z do actually.
I think there's an even more interesting question in that how did freeza not know about the dragon ball concept? We see that many worlds have this ability, and freeza had seen more worlds than any being. How could he not know?
He never saw Freeza in other forms. So the 9bvious answer is he didn't want that short first form. No dance or pose skills at all.
Well Freeza would probably see it coming if he tried. Though Ginyu seems to respect Freeza too much to even attempt it.
Loyalty and respect
I always figured that he just admired him so much he never wanted too...
you hit the nail on the head at 14:45 of the video.. king cold would have beat the breaks off him continuously until he switched back, and then squashed him like an ant. the smart move would be to body swap with king cold!
I noticed in the anime The first thing Captain G did after appearing was begin scouting Frieza’s power level and laughing to himself. I could tell he had bad intentions but was committed to playing his role for now
The writers probably wanted the audience to think that captain ginyu had a higher powerlevel than Frieza.
Ginyu knew trying anything on frieza would be a bigger gamble than betting on Garcia over tank
It always seemed to me that the Ginyu Force (Ginyu in particular) were legitimately loyal to Frieza and not the whole we follow him out of fear like everybody else.
Now I wonder how a fight between the Ginyu force Vs Coolers force would go down
Trying it and failing would result in death. If he succeeded king cold or cooler would kill him when they find out
YO! I'm mind blown - because that's actually a very good question, that has never even remotely crossed my mind, wow....
First thing I can think of is maybe friezas power level was too high....
I believe captain Ginyu truly worshipped freeza and it never even crossed his mind to do that
Vegeta wasn’t stronger than Goku at this point, Goku just was weak after his fight with Ginyu
loyalty.
I get the feeling that ultimately, captain ginyu feared what would happen if he failed. It's not the hardest move to counter, and he usually had zarbon and dadoria right next to him. That's insurance.
Because Ginyu likes muscles, pecks and triceps and biceps, and that manlet Freeza had none of that in his most used form!
Before watching the video, I have my own theory. I think captain Ginyu wasn't fast enough for the transfer to work, and I don't think he could catch Freeza off guard, especially if his power was known. Just my take. Pretty funny as I'm rewatching the Freeza arc as this video is being posted.
He works for him. And is happy working for him.
I never realised just how much of an asset the Saiyans would have been to Freeza and a threat. When you factor in Great Ape ONLY Ginyu Force members can even touch Saiyans in Great Ape. When you factor in the transformation Vegeta was the strongest of Freezas minions.
Frieza's plot armor is unmatched!

He mentioned that Ginyu wouldn’t be able to use friezas forms (other than his first form), but in interviews, it was stated that friezas final form is actually his base form and his other forms are used because they cause less energy leakage so less energy wastage would occur. That’s also why king cold uses something akin to 2nd form frieza and cooler uses something akin to final form frieza as their base. Golden and Black Frieza are regular transformations though.
Cold have not other forms, he was always weaker than Freezer
13:15 - well, if Goku never reached SSJ or got the crazy power-up from Namek, I don't think the Androids would be as powerful, either. Gero's computer used battle data from what it saw on Earth to make the Androids "strong enough" to kill Goku, so they'd probably end up being even weaker than base Freeza.
He was loyal/scared
Probably because Frieza at this time was a literal monster far beyond everyone else. Ginyu probably was too scared to even try.
I believe that if Ginyu did the body change on Freeza ( big if too, because I doubt he would be able to do it), he would eventually be able to change to the other forms. Because unlike other's forms, Freeza is actually reverting back to his original form. The other forms he created to prevent himself from destroying things on accident, because he didn't have ki control. Ginyu's problem would come from the fact that if King Cold found out what he did, he likely wouldn't be able to figure out Freeza's Final (true) form before King Cold got to him.
Before we get into this conversation, I believe Genyu respected and admired Frieza. He had no intentions of taking his place. I feel like Genyu always came off as an honorable opponent despite his techniques in battle being as low down as they come.
Freeza was too fast to ever be caught by that, and it's not worth trying it. He'd be evaporated
I think it is not only loyalty, but Frieza probably knew about teqnic and would Finnish of Ginyu before he had Finished the word. The only time he succeeded to change boddy, because his victims was not prepared for it. When he tried to take over Vegeta's boddy, and because Goku already knew about it, so he threw a innocent Namekian Frog to become a shield for Vegeta.
I always wondered that as well. I'd assume that it was due to undying loyalty and devotion to Frieza. That's my guess.
Ginyus technique is pretty unwieldly. Its got a similar weakness to the spirit bomb where you stand there exposed and need to hit them with the beam. He exclusively uses it on people stronger than him who might be willing to tank a ki attack. I think he relies on the opponent not suspecting it, and it's very likely Frieza will see it coming a mile a way. He's probably seen ginyu show up in different bodies and in super he didn't seem terribly surprised it was an option.
Ginyu: Change bodi-
Frieza: *finger beam*
