I have a question for you P6. Is the White House ever planning on redesigning the rear lawn in order for the new VH-92 Patriot/Marine One to land without destroying everything around it? Or are there a few other things that are preventing the President from flying in the new chopper? I hope your answer is that they're saving the new one for Trump's return, lol! I'm asking bcuz I see them testing this new chopper every day all day, but he hasn't flown in it yet. I know about the lawn being destroyed due to its large, powerful rotors. I figured that it must be other reasons, too, especially if it hasn't been grounded. I'd assume that since it hasn't been grounded, they are obviously still planning on using it.
The grass fires are but one issue. The other problems we have heard of (publicly) include the radio comms system not being up to requirements. It seems there are probably some other things too. No idea when they will actually carry the President in one of these helicopters.

No one knows. We see them all the time on training flights, but when they'll go into service for the POTUS is unknown.

This is how lowering the steps on this helicopter was designed from day one. They aren't going to modify it as they are going to be replacing this helicopter type, the VH-3D, with the VH-92A at some point.
